We're doing a BBQ/Pool party for our son. All kids are required to bring a life jacket or wearable floatie. We're only inviting immediate family and close friends and their kids. Our them is frogs. My son LOVES frogs. For cakes, we're doing a smaller round cake for the adults, then cupcakes for the kiddos. I can't wait!

We are planning a bbq at Grandma's house for about 30 people. If it is nice and warm we will open the pool up for the kids to cool down. We are having 2 cakes. One just for baby to dive in :) My first daughter was not really into it so I'm hoping my son is and I can get some good pictures. Otherwise we are just going to have fun. We will do a pinata but after my little one takes a couple of tries we will turn it over to the bigger kids. We have 2 older children 8 and 9 and a baby who will be about a month old by the time we have this party. So we will have a bunch of kiddos there.

We are planning a bbq in the park near a pool area. It will probably be hot so we want people to be cool. so hamburger and hot dogs, cake and presents. and we have about 30 people to come. easier to do at a park, that way i don't have to worry about cleaning my house too.

We are not planning anything too big. Just family and a few friends, cake and some finger foods. There will be a TON of decorations, that was my one stipulation!

We're having a 'princess afternoon tea' party where everyone has to come wearing something pink. Its going to start at around 3ish so i'm only having her cake and other small desserts. I'll decorate the area with balloons and i've organised a small board with photo's of her first year to put up. At around 7ish, depending on how many families decide to stay on, we're going to organise pizza's so i and no one else in the family have to cook. I refuse to cook because i too want to enjoy the afternoon with my daughter and my family. We've got about 30 people coming. Have fun with what you end up deciding to do :)

With my first daughter, I just had a simple birthday with cake (and a little cake for her) and just invited family and some friends with little ones. You dont have to do much, it is all going to be overwhelming for them anyway. The eating of the cake and presents are the main thing, but i would do present opening before you do cake, because the cake eating can get messy!! With my baby, i plan on doing the same that i did with my first! Decorations, cake and presents and your little one will love it!!
