My son is 23 months old and goes to bed with a cup....i cant take it from him yet because we are moving to a new state next month and i know its going to be a hard change for him. So hes going to need al lthe comfort her can get. He won't sleep through the night. The only way he will go back to sleep is if he gets a cup. I change his diaper everytime i give him a cup. He still soaks through on to the bed at least once a night!!! Ive goten him a bigger diaper size...ive tried diluteing his cups with water so he wouldnt want more at night. He doesnt take naps...absolutely refuses. It's hard because not only do i have him waking up a few times a night but my 8 month old does too!! What can I do to make it so hes not soaking through to the bed EVERY night.

get rid of the cup. DD was doing that so I slowly had to transition her away from the cup. reduce the amount of liquid he drinks before going to be a little at a time and then when there's nothing to drink introduce a lovey (ie. stuffed teddy) and tell him that he can have the (empty cup) or the lovey to go to bed. let him make the choice; i bet he'll go for the teddy :)

my daughter takes a cup to bed, drinks it, then has to have a second cup to go to sleep. as far as the waking up through the night, make sure the kids have an nice full belly when they go to sleep, that helps my kids... and I use Pampers Overnight diapers, always a size bigger than my daughter currenlty wears, and she has never wet through with those, but always with any other kind. hope this helps!

Huggies overnights are the only thing that worked for my little one aswell, he was waking up soaked every morning and he hardly drinks much at all so it was certainly the nappies, i switched to huggies and he has been dry ever since, i also buy a size bigger for night times so they absorb more.

I use the huggies overnights and they cured that problem for me. After using i the first week, I knew I would spend the extra money to have that extra sleep. :)

Huggies overnight diaper one size bigger than he normally wears is what works for us. my son needs a cup at night too. Frankly so do I so I am not looking to take it away. This diaper trick stopped all leaks. good luck

its the juice thats the problems ladies! dont give them juice b4 bed! i give my son his last drink at half 6 n he goes 2 bed at half 7 n he stays dry all night, as long as he had his last wee b4 bedtime. Is there another way u can comfort him, maybe a dummy or a blanket? If u keep givin him the cup and juice he will carry on bein soaked all night long!

My son Ethan would do that to me. I found by getting a plastic sheet that goes over the mattress and night time pull-ups helped on cutting down mess. The second thing was I set a time limit when cups have to be all done. The third thing was I found that if I made him get up with me to get the cup, go pee and then lay back down...he was more tired from that activity. He started getting tired of getting up to get his cup and eventually stopped in preference of sleep.

My daughter was leaking through every night as well until I switched her juice cup from 1/2 juice 1/2 water to all water. She doesnt drink hardly any of it. She was waking up I'd say about 5 times a night b4 wanting more juice until I switched. Try that it might work for you also! Then he still has the comfort of having his "cup" but not drinking as much.

lol, I may have to try the paxi pad too. My (23 month old) son uses the pampers overnight and it helps some but is still wetting the bed about 6 times a night!! Its exhausting! He's diabetic which makes him really thrist when his blood sugar is high, thats why he wets through his diaper all day and night!!

I also have to join the crowd and say the Huggies Overnights were great. I hated Huggies but when my now 4 year old started wetting through at night they worked like a charm!! Good luck with it all!

My son did that til I switched to Huggies nighttime diapers. They work great for us. I dont have to worry about changing sheets every morning when he gets up now. I hope they work as well for you.

Try the huggies overnites. My son was a belly sleeper when he was little and every morning I was having to change his sheets and his jammies were soaked. These did the trick and I haven't had to change bedding ever since. My advice would be to get rid of the cup. Juice at night is terrible for your childs teeth and the constant liquids are the reason he's urinating so much. If it were me, I would work to change this behavior of needing a cup to sleep and waking up multiple times throughout the night BEFORE you move. You need your sleep and adding a move into the mix I think is going to heighten his anxiety and have him waking up even more frequently. In your post, it sounded like you were more concerned with these other issues and not just him wetting himself. Something to think about.

Bigger diaper size always worked for me. But i have a friend who swore by (please don't laugh too hard) putting a super absorbent maxi pad on the inside of her son's diapers at night. She swore it was the only way to keep her boys dry at night. just diaper baby as usual but add the maxi into the diaper at bed time. Hope this helps. Oh and my son has a problem leaking through also however i have discovered that it isn't so much that his diaper is leaking but he is sticking his hand in his diaper to "hold" himself as he sleeps and pointing himself out of the diaper, so the diaper is catching some, the sheets are getting some, and his pj's are getting some. Haven't found any way to stop this yet. Good Luck!!
