My daughter is just about 8 months now. She does the Army crawl thing and the rocking when on all fours, but can't get forward yet. I do know that several of my friends have stated that their kids decided not to crawl until after they were walking, and there has been nothing wrong with their development. Try not to worry.. the little stinkers will do it when they're good and ready!!

My daughter is 7months and 2 weeks and she is not crawling yet. She rolls to get to something but she has no interest in crawling but she loves to stand. But she has 7 teeth i am a first time mother and I am amazed how quick she got them.

As you know babies grow and change so quickly, my daughter is now 7 months and she isn't close to crawling at all. It won't be long and your baby will be crawling. At around this age babies can differ alot and still be within normal parameters. Don't worry.

My son is not crawling yet either. I have been giving him more floor time this past week and he seems to be moving alot more. He has always put his bottom up but not his front...now he is leaning on his elbows and kind of wiggles his way to his toys. I put the toys just out of reach so he has to move to get them. I read this was the best way to get a baby motivated. Also have them looking up alot to strengthen their neck and arm muscles. So what I have done is put his blanket by his tv so he has to look up at his shows.

My daughter is 7 months and not crawling. She scots and rolls on the floor and can get to any object she wants to touch or mess with. The pediatrician says some children don't crawl. So I am not worried. My best friends daughter never crawl. She walked at 8 months. So we'll see what happens.

My little girl will be 8 months on February 5th. She is not crawling yet. She rolls, and rolls, and rolls everywhere though. I think she's pretty content with that right now. I am not sure if this helps but I've recently read that now that we are told to place babies on their backs for sleeping, they are starting to crawl at later ages. The average age for crawling now is between 7 and 10 months. Babies still will develop at their own pace so don't worry if your baby doesn't fall in that range. Keep in mind that some babies never crawl. I hope this helps... and if you are still concerned, you should talk with your baby's doctor.

He can now sit on his own and play but craawling seems to still be far away.

Any idea of when you should be worried if he is not crawling yet.

I just read in Dr. Sears' book that "normal" time for baby to start crawling is 6-9 months, so we still have planty of time before we really need to worry!

my daughter is 7 months and gets frustrated when she's on her tummy. she will swivel her body around, but no crawling yet. she pulls herself to stand by herself in her crib, though. she has 4 bottom teeth and 4 top teeth already! she's a big girl so i think maybe her belly gets in the way when she tries to crawl. the 'experts' say that crawling is very important to brain function and learning later in life. i hope my little girl crawls before she walks!

my daughter has three bottoms! lol weird I know. My pediatrician says that they can take up to a year to even get the first teeth, so not to worry.

Crawling I give up on. She's 8 1/2 months and is not going to do it anytime soon. She "walks" holding your hands and in her walker so maybe that soon? I don't know

My daughter is almost 8 months and does not seem interested in crawling, it has started to worry me but this has helped me a bit. When she is on her front she wants to move but has not really grasped the fact that she needs to put her knees under her, I am just going to leave her to when she is ready. She also only has 2 bottom teeth.

My son is 7 months and 1 week and he is not crawling yet. He is really trying but always seems to end up in a sitting position. I'm honestly in no rush for the crawling...then he will be into everything! I hear some babies never crawl and just go straight to walking...each baby has their own way of getting around.

My Grandson gets into the crawling position and rocks backwards&forwards then goes onto his tummy and pulls with his arms dragging his body. The first week he moved a couple of inches, now he spots things and with sheer determination keeps going until he reaches the object. James was born 1st June, two weeks ago he wasn't at this stage, so in another two weeks he might be crawling properly...or not bother at all. They all do things at different stages. My Grandson prefers to be on his feet and grips your hands to pull himself up. Is your baby rolling to get around?

My daughter is 7 months, 2 weeks and isn't crawling. She'll get on all 4's and rock, but she much prefers to pull up to stand (with a wee bit of help). She's been rolling everywhere she wants to go and, I think, she is content with that for now.

My baby has been crawling a little over a week. She started off rolling, and did the 'downward dog' yoga pose, and then all of a sudden saw a light up toy across the room and made a B-line for it! It happened so quick! However the next day she went into the inchworm and army crawl..but now is back to crawling. She sticks her booty up in the air like a stink bug most of the time. Other moms I know with baby's around the same age, boys are not crawling, and girls either are or are about to. The boys def. tend to be slower. Re: the comment on bigger having something to do with milestones, that's interesting, but not sure about that. My baby is for sure on the smaller side (she was 5 weeks early) and significantly smaller in weight than other babies her same age, yet she's doing things before most of them who are all about 2-3 lbs heavier. I think it just depends on the baby and bottom line is they will do all these things in time,w hen they are ready. : ) it goes by so fast!!

Aiden hates trying to crawl. He gets so mad and just flops down on his belly and totally gives up. I think he'll walk first

My daughter kinda crawls backwards. She scoots herself backwards, it's the cutest things ever. She can seem to go forward. She lunges back and forth on her hands and knee but movement yet. But she can tear up the floor with her backwards scoot crawl.

My daughter Abby is not crawling yet.  She does however scoot on her belly and uses her arms to move (kind of like an army crawl).  This just started last week.

both of my daughters crawled by 6mo but they are really big babies. My ped said it seems to make a big difference in milestones. My niece is 8 mo old and just started crawling. She is a lot smaller than my youngest so it does seem to make sense. I'm sure your baby will be crawling in no time.

My daughter kinda crawls.  We call it the army crawl.  She pulls herself with her elbows while kicking with her toes.  She has not done the hands and knees thing.  She gets on her hands and knees and lunges back and forth but no real movement.  But she can tear up the floor in the walker.

My nephew is 9 months and was crawling full force by the time he was 6 months.  He had teeth at 4 months.  Brenna just got her first tooth a week ago.  No matter what crawling, walking, talking, etc. I think you just have to wait and see.  They are so funny.  Each having their own little personnalities so soon.  Each has things they are good at and things that challange them.

My son is not crawling as of yet either.  He is showing signs of wanting to and tries when he is on his stomach, but he has not figured out the knee part yet.  The pediatrician said that developmental stages on based on a curve, so don't be discouraged at this point :)
