Ok, so I have waited until the last minute to ask. What is the best thing to bring to the beach for a crawling baby? Should we bring the pack and play, or just put him on a lot of towels/blanket? Thanks for your advice.

Thank you! We did have a good time! He tried to eat the sand many times! Basically he sat a little up from the water and played and crawled a little. The water kinda scared him! But, he did like it when it didn't touch him! :)

We were fortunate and were able to make it to the beach twice this year. On our first trip our daughter had just started crawling. Towels and blankets did not keep her from crawling right into the sand where she wanted to be. She loved it and would cry if I did not let her down. I just let her go. She squeezed it between her fingers and even tried to eat it but that's how kids learn so I let her play. On our second trip she had just started walking but she still just wanted to sit in the sand and play. Have a safe trip and have fun.

I tried a blanket and my daughter was off of it within a few minutes crawling through the sand. She loves the feel of it as long as it isn't too hot.
