diaper question

My daughter has been sleeping through the night for months now. She's usually in bed by six and doesn't get up until six or seven the next morning. The last two mornings when we've gone in to get her, her diaper has soaked through her pajamas, her crib sheet and blankets. We use Wal-mart brand diapers. Is it the kind of diapers we are using or the fact that she has the same diaper on for so long? Any advice or suggestions?

I had to use Huggies Overnite diapers with both of my children. Never had any problems after I started using them. I've been told that you can use a diaper one size bigger in the diaper you normally use for the day time but that never worked for us. As to whether it could be the type of diaper you are using---I think if you are not having problems with them during the day it is probably because she is in the same diaper for such a long period of time. Hope this helps.

When my daughter was a newborn I had to use the cheap brand of diapers because they were gifts, and I always had leaks! Since then I've used pampers and Huggies. I have to say Huggies are my favorite! I never have leaks, even when she wakes up in the morning, no leaks. I think its the brand that makes the difference. Good luck!

I use Luvs and they seem to be holding up pretty good LOL.. sometimes we will get a leek and most of the time we wake up completly dry.. My little man goes to bed between 7 and 8 and wakes up at 7to 8 in the morning.. they seem to be worming, so im sticking with them... My friend uses wal-mart brand and when i watch her son there are always problems with leeks, so i swore i was not going to use them!!

We use pampers baby dry flex in a size 4 they go from 22 pounds to 37 pounds. My daughter is around 23 pounds and the diaper is not so tight so I think the extra material allows for more absorption. We had the Walmart diapers and Huggies and she was wet every morning....we went through clothes like crazy. Just like the other post her diaper weighs around five pounds but no leaks. Gotta love it!!! Hope everything works out

What really worked for me were the Huggies overnight diapers in a size larger than he normally wears. For a while, I was even putting my son in a regular diaper PLUS an overnight, but now he does well in just the overnight.

It could be a bit of both actually. I used to use Wal-Mart diapers on my daughter when she was very young, but once she started moving about a lot more she started leaking through all the time. Once I switched to Huggies I didn't have this problem any longer. As for being soaked through I have the same problem with my son when he sleeps longer than ten hours. There is just so much liquid these diapers can absorb. If the diapers are to snug it will also cause it to leak more easily. The weight guids on the diapers are suggestions, sometimes you have to move up a size if a child is rounder around the middle or if the child has a very long body.

I have the same problem with my daughter. She sleeps from 6:30pm to 7-7:30am and the last few weeks I've had the same problem. I use pampers brand as I've found that Huggies leaked. I went to the next size up and put her in size three at night even though she fits into size two. Also, I put the diaper up higher on her stomach so it looks odd and fits odd but it seems to work better. She flips on her stomach at night so I was having problems with her being wet up her tummy. Hopefully that works for you. Glad to hear your daughter is sleeping twelve hours like my Emily:)

I use Pampers swaddlers and have had no problem. My DD sleeps 10-12, sometimes nearly 13 hours, as well. The diaper is absolutely soaked, but not soaked through. Maybe it is the brand......

We use Huggies super dry (not sure if you can get them in the states) but they are great at keeping Ellie dry.

hmm...not sure on that. but i used to use some of the cheaper brand diapers and had problems with leaks. i now exclusively use pampers and almost never have leaks. my daughter goes through the night with the same diaper, and sometimes i swear it weighs 5 pounds in the morning, but no leaks! i know they are expensive, but in my eyes you definitely get what you pay for.

It may be time for a bigger diaper, they hold more. I know that I had to go the next size up for nighttime so they would hold more, even though she still fit pretty good into the smaller size. It may also be the brand. Store brands just don't seem to work quite as well. Maybe you will need something a little more expensive for the nighttime.
