Can anyone suggest what I should do, My daughter is already classed as gifted. Everything is so easy for her, and I am on my own, so no father in the picture. I want her to be a a little girl who has fun, and plays, but she acts like I'm punishing her if I take her reading and math stuff from her. She needs to learn to play. She is very shy with her social interaction unless it is an older child, and even then it can be difficult for her.

I have a gifted child as well my 2 yr old is like that he loves his books and clocks especially those are his favorites and i know at times it can be frustrating. He however has gone through phases where he will be a social butterfly and then times where he just wants left alone. I would try taking her to some places with other kids parents as teachers, the playground, alot of libraries have story time...even if she doesnt interact with them right away the more you take her the more she will become comfortable with her surroundings. She might surprise you one day and just start talking to other kids =) i know it's a struggle but keep your chin up it does get better i promise
