So I took my little man to the doctor for his one year check up on Monday, June 22, and he weighed 24lbs and is just over 30 inches. He is in the 75% for height and weight. Just curious as to where your little ones are. He has recently began walking (about 2 weeks ago) since walking he has lost interest in food. Where as to before you couldn't feed him enough. I am definitely not worried about his weight, just wondering if anyone else is going through this! Also HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY to all our June Babies!!

WOW!!! I'm feeling like my kids are bruisers! Both of my sons weighed in on their 1st birthdays at 30 lbs and 30 inches....there must be something in the genes I guess. they certainly aren't "fat" babies, but they are brick solid for sure!!!

at one aiden was 17 pounds 2 oz and 28 inches tall he was average weight at birth 6 ponds 11 oz and 18 inches long now at almost 15 months he weighs 19 pounds and is 29 inches long he takes after me i;m only 4 feet 10 inches.

[deleted account]

At one year he was 26.13 lbs!!! I'm not concerned about that because at his 6 month check up he was 23 lbs! So almost 4 lbs in 6 months is not bad. Since he started walking (on his b-day) he has "slimmed" down so much!!

My 'lil Jenna was only 17 1/4 pounds and 29 1/2 inches at her 12 month checkup. She was below the 10th percentile. She is a pretty big eater but is so active that she doesn't stay still for very long. They tested her thyroid and it all came back normal. We took her back yesterday for a weight check and she was now 18 3/4 pounds and 29 1/2 inches! She is not a demanding baby when it comes to being fed so when others had her if she wasn't acting like she was hungry they weren't offering food. I had them offer her food every 2 hours and it made a huge difference. She isn't walking on her own yet but she has been pulling herself up and walking along the furniture and with things that roll for about 3 months now. Jenna has not lost interest in food. If anything it has actually increased...I figure that will change when she starts walking...

my son was 21lbs 29.75 inches and in the 20% or so area. He is a pretty lean kid with big thighs. He crawled late (10 mos) and still isn't walking (15mos) Though he's getting more confident standing unsupported as of this week and he walked while holding my hand this morning. He has lost an interest in dinner time meals, but eats a lot during the day. Dr says there is nothing wrong, they all grow and develop differently. My son is more interested in figuring things out around him and talking about them. He can walk along furniture, and with push toys fine, he's just not very confident on his own. It will happen when it happens. I'm sure your son is a perfect size.

My son was born 6/14, and he is 31 lbs! He was 9.5 lbs at birth, and has always been in the 90th or higher percentile for height and weight! At least he is proportional...
Also, about the decreased interest in food around this age- I read that around 1 year, kid's bodies put themselves on a 'maintenance diet' because if they continued to eat at the rate they did during their 1st year of life, they'd be huge!

My daughter when she turned one she was 22lbs and 29 inches. She had been walking since she was 9 months old. She's also lost interest in food which is normal because she's more interested in getting around rather than being forced to sit in one spot. it happens he'll get his appetite back!

My little girl is 13 months now...2 weeks after her first birthday she weighed in at only 17lbs and 29 inches....she's really tiny though; small bones!l She was 6lbs 6oz at birth, and lost almost 1lb in the days after (they say it's cause she had jaundice real bad) Dr seemed to wonder if she was getting enough, but she eats none stop really! she's becomming a bit more of a fussy eater in the last month too, so it's hard to find foods she'll eat.

My little boy turned 1 on June 30th, and he weighed 20.6 lbs and was 28.5 inches. 15% for both. He's been walking since 11 months and doesn't want to take time to eat, so he has been pretty stable in his weight for a couple months now. He's thinned out a bit....no more double chin! :( I loved his little chubby chin. Now I have to settle for his chubby cheeks. :)

My Abbi turned 1 on June 21st, Father's Day this year! We took her too the doctor and she is 16 lbs 8 oz! When she was born she was average size, 7 lbs 5oz and 19.5 inches long! Ever since then she has been at 3% for her weight and 50% for her height. At her 12 month check up she dipped below 3%, which makes me nervous. The doctor's were always telling me she's fine, she's just little. And the weird thing is, she eats like a little piggie! I'm actually going back to the doctor tomorrow, we moved so I had to change doctors. I'm going to take her back in to see if they can give me better advise. We'll see.....

I wouldn't worry too much love size is but a number, unless the Doctor is concerned STRESS LESS! I'm only a small lady myself, but @ 12 months my son Jaiah was 12.52kg & 82cm tall his HUGE and since birth has been in the 95th to 97th percentiles for height & weight groups. Thou his not even walking yet. Lots of standing and trying, but I realise his not slow - he'll just WALK when his READY! They eat when there hungry (just don't force food on your bubba) and hit developmental milestones when they’re confident there capable of doing so. Good Luck anyhow and Happy Birthday for your precious treasure!

My son is at 26 lbs and 32"s long. I guess he is just going to be tall like his 6'4 father. We are both skinny... but he has been weighing 26 lbs since he was about 8 months old. He seems to been slimming down and getting taller.

don't worry as the child start moving they loose interest in food and even a little weight, cause they to busy discovering the world they couldn't see or rich crowling or sitting. I have 11 moth old he does not walk yet but about moth ago started crowling and pulling up himself everywhere possible. He also was eating machine and now he doesn't even eat a half of portion he used to. If you worry about it talk to your child pediatritian, that's what I always do and if he is satisfy with my child's development I AM SATISFY, TOO.

Seems I got to this post a little late (I just joined the group today), but my daughter was 26.2 lbs and 31.25" at one year (June 10th). She is now 32" and 28.2 lbs. She was a big girl when she was born, though, at 9 lbs 2 oz and 21". She was born almost 2 weeks past my due date. My hubby has very tall people in his family (I'm only 5'6", lol). I also don't keep track of percentiles.

Joys of being an Aussie... My little man is 14kg, whatever that is in pounds... MASSIVE! was born 8 and a half pounds and put on half a kilo a week steadily. The flip side of that is that i have no idea what percentile he's in cos he was off the charts through the first year and now when i ask the doc he just laughs and says he a big fat healthy baby, who cares?

I have no idea how long he is, can't keep him still long enough to measure him!

He was born June 9

I took my daughter to her 1 year check up on June 5th (her birthday is the 4th) and she weighed 24 lbs and she was just over 29 inches. She was in her 100th percentile for weight and 90th for her height. That's a big improvement to the 4 lb 12oz baby that I took home!! She is also walking but she still loves her food and her snacks.

I too get the wow he is so small. my youngest son at his one year check up was 18lbs 6oz and 29in he is in the 25th percent for his height, but he is closer to the 1 percentile for his weight. who would have thought that a baby born at 8lbs2oz would be so small at a year old. since he was about 6 months old he was breast, formula, and whole milk fed. and by his weight you would have never guessed how much he eats, like i tell everyone if it isn't nailed down he will eat it. Now at 13 months he is slowly putting on some weight, we will see how things go for now, until he finally decides he wants to walk.

as far as loosing interest in eating food my two year old did the same thing with food. he's not big on food, I would have to say he really only eats 2 real meals a day, I think that he is just too busy all the time and can't take the time to eat. He will eventualy eat when he gets hungry. hope this helps

Evangeline turned 1 on June 26. Her Dr. visit on 7/16 showed her at 17lb8oz 6%, 28.5" 31%. I don't remember her head circumference but it was 63%. She is a teensy little thing with a slightly large noggin'. She is taking after her sister and grandma and great-grandma and will probably be lucky if she is 5ft. full grown!

my daughter turned 1 june 17, she is now 37 in and weighs 30 lbs...gonna be a big girl. she started walking at 9 months, and has always been an eater...still is. Now i also have a 2 1/2 yr old girl, who is just about to get passed up by her sister in height, and she only weighs 27 lbs. one big , one little :)

My son is massive. His father is really tall at 6'5", so I expected it. He was an average baby though - 8 pounds even, 20.5 inches. At a year old, he's about 35 inches tall, and about 26 pounds, and he has a 20 inch head (I have a 23.5 inch head - big heads run in our German family, among other things. XD) He does seem to have less interest in eating, but I can get him to drink pretty well - he likes milk, filtered water and 25% juice with 75% water mix. I'm trying to wean him from the bottle, but he doesn't quite grasp the cup concept yet- though I think the new silicone sippy cup is working.

my little man is only 18 pounds, weighed 9 pounds five and a half at birth. i worry constantly he needs to be bigger but no one seems interested think i'm being neurotic! anyone else have same issues? he had acid reflux but that has cleared up since about ten months old, but he now sufferes constantly with ear infections, he has been on antibiotics for three weeks now and still there. i have refused the latest course as don't feel they're helping. i asked to be referred to e.n.t specialist but was told he is too small, however, feel that the constant illness means he won't be getting any bigger? he eats but feel he could be eating more, he isn't walking unadided yet but moves around a lot. doesn't sleep well, always waking up in pain. any ideas?

My son just turned 1 on June 30 and started walking at the 11months 1 week... for his 1 year check up he weighted 22 lbs and 31inches long... he was 50% for weight and 90% for height... doctor said he was perfect... but ever since taking him off the formula, he eats and eats and eats... I am afraid he will gain a lot of weight, but he really hasn't... I guess because he walks and runs a lot... So our babies are just perfect...

Hello,

My daughter Kaya was born 6 lbs. 6.1 oz. At her 1 year she was 19 lbs and 28 inches. 25% for weight and 75% in Height. She has been so active, that through 1st year of growth the doctor has been worried about her growth rate. She eats contstantly and eats out of house and home. She also is drinking whole milk. But She is really a healthy, happy, and ACTIVE BABY!!

Owen turned one on June 6th. He was 21 lbs. 12 oz. and 33 1/4" tall. He's the height of an average 21 month old. His height has been off the charts for a while now. His weight is another story. His weight for his age is 25th percentile, but weight for his height is also off the charts...the other direction! But the doctor says it's nothing to worry about, he's perfectly healthy. It's in his genes. I'm 6'2" and my husband is 6'10" and we're both quite slim. So we've got a tall, skinny kid!...my little beanpole.

I just took my little man for his annual exam and he weighs 27 lbs and is 30 inches. 95th percentile in weight and 40th percentil in height! He is definitely a big boy! Mines has not been eating very well either, wasn't sure if it was teething, the heat or what....but I didn't think about the walking part having something to do with it.....obviously weight wise, I have no reason to worry but it is a little frustrating when he doesn't want to eat.

She's just tall and skinny but she started walking at 8 1/2 months so I dont know if maybe thats why shes a bit on the skinny side......who knows every baby is different I guess =]
