My son is almost 7 months now and we give him a bath 3 days a week. Is that enough or should we be doing it more often? Everytime I take him in for a checkup I forget to ask the doctor.

We bath our gem everynight (if we're going out - shower)  Part of the "routine" that we have, though sometimes -as they do- things happen and she doesn't get bathed. It doesn't seems to bother her - but as others having poo and pee around your bits all day ain't that grand.  Especially those solids meal poos - ooohh lordy!

Olivia gets 3 baths a week.  There have been plenty of weeks where she only gets two, but I try to stick to Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday nights.

We only bathe our daughter twice/week.  Her skin does so much better with the reduced washing.  We were washing more - but her skin, especially her scalp, was getting so dry.  Meal time is getting messier these days, so we may need to increase our frequency.

We also bathe nightly purely for routine purposes.  He knows that after a bath he nurses and then goes to sleep.  On the rare nights we miss, it takes him forever to go to sleep.  If you don't have that problem, then a few nights a week is fine.

My daughter has eczema and daily baths would really dry her skin out. Her dr said twice a week baths with daily moisturizing is best for her eczema. I would love to give her nightly baths for the sake of routine, but I guess that is too hard on her skin.

Lyndsey gets a bath or gets in the shower with me or my husband every night before bed. Its our routine. Plus she sits in her own pee and poo everyday...kind of gross.

my baby doc told me 2-3 times a week for my 7month old. She has a lil sensitive skin and gets really dry with any more than 2. But bath night is the best nights of sleep she (and i) get! My oldest was every other night. Without any issues, I would love every night to be bath night, for relaxation, minus the soaps, but hey, every baby is dif right!!

We've always bathed our son the same time every other night. There's no need to give your newborn a bath every day. In fact, bathing your baby more than several times a week may dry out his or her skin. If you're quick with clean diapers and fresh burp cloths, you're already cleaning the parts that really need attention — the face, neck and diaper area (which can be easily wiped with a wash cloth during the inbetween days)

We are usually every 2-3 days depending on if we are going somewhere the following day. I usually wash her hair more often then give her a bath because it gets so oily because I am always playing with it, she loves head massages to fall asleep.

I was giving my daughter a bath every other night and unintentionally causing her all kinds of issues. No matter how much lotion I put on she was always super dry and breaking out in rashes. She was also getting what we thought was cradle cap really bad. Our ped told me to try dandruff shampoo on her head and prescribed me with some kind of cream. Even after trying that she was still having issues. At her 6 month check up he told me to try bathing her just two times a week because doing it every other day must have been making her lose too much of the natural oils in her skin. Since then her cradle cap has gone away and her skin is fine with just regular baby lotion.

i thnk it all depends on your child, my elsest cant stand getting dirty so he has a bath three times a week, but my 7mth old is a sweaty child so i have to give him a bath every night or he smells really bad, he is a chubba baby so i have to get into all the creases, if your baby looks clean and smells clean you dont need to bath them too often, i wash ahnds and faces after every meal that keeps them cleaner longer to

I bathe my daughter every night since forever....... My mom put it this way...that booty has been in a dirty diaper all day, would you want to go to bed with a dirty booty??? Plus it helps with our bedtime routine. She's been sleeping through the night for almost 5 months now!

My son has a bath every night. It is mainy because i wanted to get him in a nightly routine and now he know that after bath uts bedtime. However, he doesn't need one, i'd say every other night is enough. I've always been told as long as under his arms, neck and crotch area aren't getting sore, then he's having enough baths.

i give my son a bath everynight...but not cuz he needs one. He doesnt get that gunk in the neck or anything like that. But it was my way of getting him on a routine...everynight at the exact same time i give him a bath. I have to admit i've become attatched to it now too...its our bonding time

My son gets one every night, he has since about 2 months old. He loves playing in water and it keeps me sane every night or gives my husband something to help with while I make dinner. If I didn't bathe him, he'd have milk, spit up, food, and poops everywhere- it is so hard to get in all the nooks and crannies without a good soak. Plus we have pets, so a splash in the tub at night makes me feel better about him sucking on his fingers all night after crawling on the floor and playing with the cats. He is lucky- has no problems with soap, fragrances, etc. so I can use shampoo, lotion, regular detergent/fabric softener/dryer sheets too and he is fine even with a daily bath. If your baby gets irritated, try a plain water bath alternated with a soap bath every other time. And yes, I agree with other posts, Johnson's bedtime products are so soothing- love them!

I give my son a bath every night...but that's more about the social mommy-son time than an actual need for it.

I think as long as you take a wet wipe to his crotch and under his chin, he'll be fine with 3 times a week.

I usually do it 2 or 3 times a week. My son is almost 7 months too. I just put well moisterizing llotion on after his bath, and I usually do it at night, the bed time bath bby Johnsons is a wonderful invention for sure it works well. Though if Nathan has an immunsiation appointment I usually leave bath day till that day, because it sooths his legs and it's good for him to kick tthe medicine through.

"I think that is up to you.  My first son I made sure he had a bath the same time every night.  My second, daughter, she got a bath about 3-4 times a week and my third, daughter, is lucky to get a bath twice a week..  LOL!!!  I think 3 times a week is good, it's not like they roll in the mud every day.
