my boy has not been in his high chair for about 3 months he has to sit at the table with us on a normal dinning table chair! it is so werid and he will not sit in his high chair and eat.. is anyone else having this happening to there june baby ??

my son is in a booster chair at the table too he would climb on the chair at dinner when every one was sitting down so we thought it would be safer to get a booster

Sara is happy to sit at her high chair, but she does get rather excited when she gets to sit in a regular chair or in the booth at a restaurant. I just find it easier to keep her in the high chair, to be quite frank. She is a little ball of energy; it would drive me batty beyond belief if I didn't have her confined!!!

My son is out of the high chair and has been for a couple of months now and he throws a fit if we have company and he has to sit in the high chair. He's been throwing tantrums about it so i put it up for the new baby that will be here next week. Maybe when he gets used to sitting at the table he wont sit back in the high chair.

my little boy is in and out of his when he feels like it. when we go to his nanna's house he always has to sit on a chair and when we go out for a meal he wont eat unless he gets to sit on a chair...but when we're at home he sits in his high chair...i think they all progress at their own rate which is a good thing so let him get on with it...if he feels he is ready then he probably is...hope this helps...xxx

He turned 2 yesterday and we still sit him in his high chair. He does occassionally eat lunch or a snack with the older kids at the regular table and they are insisting that he is ready to sit with them....do they not remember their toddler table? lol. My oldest 4 sat at a FisherPrice table until we had the work done on our house 3 years ago and they were 8, 5, 5, & 4. Don't know what we will do with our little guy when he demands out of the high chair....

My boy is two next month and he uses both!!
Sometimes he stays in the high chair, and if he doesnt want to be there he will sit at the table with us.

My little girl will stay in the regular chair at the table but i'm afraid shes going to fall so i still sit her in her high chair for that reason. Does your little boy have any other siblings in the house? If so, i would think that he watches them sit on the chair at the table so he wants to do it too.

we put a plastic kids chairs and table in the dining room and its next to our table so she has her independence but we can watch her, she has here own plastic cutlery and placemat etc...

My daughter is the same way. She might start out in the highchair but after bout 3 bites she says done and tries to get down. We just set her plate at the table and she climbs into the chair and will finish her food!

my daugther saw her older sister sit at the table so we had to let her sit at the table. I just bought one of the plastic booster seats so she can reach the table.

My daughter has been out of her high chair for a while. We tried with the booster seat but that didn't last long. She sits with us on a regular chair at the dinner table and sometimes at the island on the tall stools when we eat there.

My son is still in the highchair at 21 months simply because that's where he chooses to be! I tell him to go get in his chair and he scales the dining room chair his highchair is attached to and sits himself there waiting for his tray. I use the tray still because if his food is on a plate, he dumps the plate upside down on the floor- which is carpet, and we're renting, so I'd rather have as few stains as possible to have to deal with :-) he has sat in a booster seat, a kids size table, and a regular chair though at various relatives houses and done ok

we just put our son in his booster seat out of the high chair this week. but he sits a the table with us if we go out to dinner without a problem... next shot is going from the crib to the big boy bed (we're converting this weekend)

YUP!!! Anthony boycotted the highchair about 2 months ago and sometimes refuses to sit in his booster seat. He likes to sit in the "big person" chair where his little head bearly clears the table. It's hilarious!!!

My daughter was born 6/23 and eats in a highchair if we go out to dinner. I'm not going to have her running around the restaurant. If we're at home we have one of those chairs you attach to a dining chair that has the tray you lift off and she likes that. We actually went to dinner the other night and sat at a booth and we put her in the booth, but up against the wall and she did ok. She's tiny enough though she needs that extra height to reach the table.

If he isn't tall enough for the regular dining chair, I have seen things made to put under that chair legs to make it taller. So, he can sit in a regular chair and it is tall enough for him to sit at the table.

My lil boy (2 in June) sits in a highchair/ booster chair attached to a dining chair for messy food - like yogurt, spag bol etc. and sits at a little coffee table with a colourful plastic chair for sandwiches, biscuits etc. because I used to do family day care he always wanted to be with the kids at their table!

My little boy has been our of his high chair for MONTHS now! It was like one day he just said this is it! I refuse to put up with sitting here! So he sits in a booster seat in a high top chair with arm (next to my 3 year old) at our counter top. The reason for this is that our dining room is carpeted and with the amount of food/liquid that gets dropped, spilled, thrown it's just best :-)

My daughter hasn't set in a high chair for about 6 months. She has to do everything like her brother. She is very independant. I also have been unable to help feed her or anything. I found it to be quite old because her brother stayed in a high chair until he was like 4 1/2. I just removed tray section and put it up to the table. He loved it. It was also an older wooden high chair.

my daughter is still in her high chair, but not using it as a high chair, just using it as a seat up against the dining table as shes quite short and petite( still under 10kg) she cant reach the table in a normal seat hehe.

We still have our daughter (21 months) in a HC. I cant stand it when kids run around the table (at home and out) so she will be staying there for a bit longer.

My daughter is exactly the same as your son. She loves to sit at the table with the family at meal times. And she hasn't used her high chair for about 3 or 4 months. She is very independant so can understand, it just makes them feel more grown up and part of the family which is nice !

Our boy (June 08) has been sitting at the table with us for about 12 months. We got him a booster seat and he loves it. He hated the high chair I think it may have been because he didn't feel like part of the family group?

My June baby is still in the high chair, but he won't eat unless he is in grandma's lap. She lost 3 grandchildren in house fire a few months after my son was born and I think him eating with her is a way to stay close and stay connected.

My daughter sits on our lap for meals at the table. This is what we have found works best since she was a babe beginning to eat solid foods. She now sometimes insists on sitting solo (in an adult sized chair) at the table with us.

our son is a june baby('08) & he sits in a booster for dinner, but breakfast & lunch, he sits at a little kid size table in our playroom. the one he uses now has a regular plastic chair that is separate, but we have used a kid size picnic table for him & our other kids. either worked great. hope this helped.

Hello Samantha, my lil one has been sitting at her Dora two chair and table since last year and she loves it! She feels like a big girl, so she eats at her own table while me and daddy sit at the big dinette. She eats all of her food, says done, removes her bib and claps! He's a big boy now, try a booster at the table with you or try a table and chair set.

As soon as our children were eating meals with us regularly they sat in booster seat on a regular chair at the table, easier for us than having to get the high chair out for every meal (limited space in the dinning room/kitchen meant the highchair was folded up & stored away during the day). By about 18 months or so they could climb up in to their seats by themselves when it was time to eat.

my daughter has been sitting at the table off and on for about two months. i bought a booster seat that attachers to a normal dining chair and straps her in and she seems to really like it. i changed it from the highchair because nursery told me that she was getting up and leaving the table when eating with the other children and i thought it was because she was used to being in her highchairat home not being able to move so she took advantage in nursery. i have heard recently that she has improved! she's 21months! x

My daughter refusses to sit in the high chair...she tells me NO every time I say lets get in the high chair. I think it is due to the three year old I have and being in the booster, she wants a booster too! Oh well if that is the only thing we argue over I will be happy!

We havent moved our DS out of the high chair yet but its only because our table only has 4 chairs and we dont have a chair for him! So we will keep him in the high chair as long as possible cause getting a new table isnt possible right now!

I wish that were the case for me. Our son who is a June baby, will only sit in the high chair for about 5 min at dinner time , will then say "all done" and will scream to get out. I will take him out and all he will want to do is sit with one of us to finish his meal. I am thinking that it is time to put him in a big chair, should I do as you have and use a regular chair or purchase one of those booster seats for him? It has become very frustrating.

My daughter is 21 months and would prefer not sitting in her high chair. In the dinning room we put a little table for her but because we have 3 dogs as soon as she sits at that table to eat the dogs will just grab her food of her plate so we don't have a choice but to put her in her high hair until she's a little taller to sit a the table with us. Last summer for her 1st birthday my mom bought her a pinic table and she really enjoyed sitting there and having her breakfast and lunch and sometimes even dinner so we will be doing that againg this summer.

My daughter will be two this June, but she has been out of her chair since before her first birthday. Actually the last day she ever sat in any chair other than a dinning chair was to eat her birthday cake. I will say this was by her choice. I personally enjoyed putting her in a chair that she had no choice but to stay in and eat. Now if she is really hungry she will sit and eat but if not we are lucky to keep her at the table for 5mins.

Emma wants to be a big girl and sit at the table! And we let her, until she acts up and then she's back in the highchair. We're trying to show her that good behavior lets her stay at the table ... she isn't quite catching on yet!!! She's also small - so she has to be on her knees on the chair just to be able to be at a good height to eat. But we did register for a booster seat for her birthday - we're hoping that might help her at the dinner table.

My daughter is going on 21 months and still ues a highchair at home and at daycare. At daycare, all the kids her age are still in them, and at home, we need the extra space her highchair tray provides so she has room for her food. If she were not strapped into a highchair, at this point, she would just bolt and go play with her toys instead of eating at the table with us! Her cousin, who is a month older also still uses a highchair. My daughter is in the lower percentile in size, so she will fit in her chair for a while yet. She does use a booster w/ tray option at her grandmother's homes since they do not have highchairs for her, and this is strapped to a dining chair. We still use the tray provided with those as wel.l

My daughter is still sitting in her highchair for every meal. At friends houses if there is no highchair of course she sits up to the table but she eats every meal at home in her highchair with no complaints. I never even thought of getting rid of it. We use it for a lot of things including meals, coloring, and reading books. I don't know what I would do without it!

My little girl has been out of a high chair for quite some time. It got to the point where she would scream and cry if we even tried putting her in the high chair. We have a booster seat that straps to one of the kitchen chairs, she rarely even uses that. She enjoys using regular chairs like the "grown ups"
