My little guy doesn´t like any kind of food

Hi, I´m back again with updates. I tried the finger food and the bigger variety and still no luck. He´ll try but he will gag most of the times or he will stop and refuse to continue after the first few bites. I won´t give up though. I´m sure there must be something that he will like. I just need to find it. And if nothing else at least he is trying new things every day.

I like Anne's suggestion to try finger foods. Our daughter would rather feed herself finger food. We cut her food up in small bits and she does fine. We found she didn't eat a lot when we were giving her baby cereal and purees... but now she eats like a champ! Try steamed broccolli. For some reason most babies love, love, love it!

We have the exact same problem! My baby girl is now 10 months old and refuses to eat anything solid. She drinks her milk from the bottle and won't take anything offered in a spoon. She is very picky. My friends babies eat already all kind of solids. Cucumber, bread, porridge etc. I don't know the reason for this. I fear that she might be those children who are going to develop an eating problem! Any tips?

My little guy gags when I feed him the jarred veggies (I don't blame him the stink :0) but when I give him small peices of what we are eating he does fine. I do a lot of the same things that Anne does and just let him do it his self. I think that babies like to test the texture and play. Good luck he'll eat when he wants to.

That is really helpful! The truth is that I haven't really tried giving him much finger food as I was thinking he wouldn't manage. As I was reading what you give your baby I realized that I haven't really tried much with mine. Thanks for the advice. I will try him with finger food and see how it goes.And also a bigger variety.  In fact I see how much he enjoys holding a piece bread and eating it himself instead of having me over his head threatening with a spoon:-) thanks again

I don't have this problems - my 10 month old will eat everything I give him (cereal, toast, chopped up meat with mashed vegies, chicken/avocado/cheese, salmon & vegies, rice cakes, bread, etc etc).
You said you've tried "baby" food, soups etc. Have you just tried finger food? ie, at 10 months they can start eating finger food by themselves. Some days I just cut up a heap of things (tiny sandwiches, soft carrot sticks - ones that I've semi cooked first - cheese sticks, rice cakes, etc) and just put them on his highchair tray and let him pick and eat himself. Probably about a quarter to a half he actually eats. The rest he just plays with, sucks, spits out etc. It's all part of learning.

Probably depends how much milk you are giving too. Milk should be reduced at this age as solid foods take over. They still need plenty of milk, but obviously less than what they were drinking at 6 months. Do you feed solids first or milk? I give my baby his bottle first thing in the morning; then breakfast; then solids for lunch; then later a bottle; then solids for tea; then a bottle before bed.

Thanks so much for letting me know I'm not the only one out there with a picky little 9 month old! It helps to know that other people go through the same. My pediatrician says that as long as we don't have a problem with the weight then we have nothing to worry about. I guess our little ones will learn how to eat eventually!

I know exactly how you feel, what your going through,my little one who is also 10 months old has no enterest in solids or any kinds of food what so ever,and it frustrates me,she will kick,scream and cry.The key thing is you cant force them to eat,I learned that the hard way.You just basicly have to try different techniqs to try to get them to eat,Unfortunitly nothing has worked for me so far.

Sorry if I havnt been much help,I just wanted to let you know that your not alone in this situation,I have the exact same problem.
