Naps for a 1 year old

my boy sleeps from 9-10 for two hours he used to also have a nap from 2-3 but doesnt anymore...and he still sleeps from 6pm till 5.30am without fail...he pretty much decided for himself! but he's a good baby like that he even weaned himself of his dummy at like 5 months!

I usually play it by ear, my daughter will take a morning nap but not an afternoon nap so it makes for a very long day. If I put her down too early for then shes back up in an hour and fully recharged. When I wait until it's her bed time she is cranky and I have to be very creative to keep her attention.

Well my Olly is an early riser (on average 5.30am) so he is still having two naps aday, tho his afternoon one is getting later so as he gets older i will try and stop that one so that bedtime is easier. They will let you know what they want.

My almost one year old has been taking 1 nap for about 2 month now - from noon until 2, 2:30. If she happens to be cranky at 5, she will go for a shorter, second nap, happens about twice a week or if we are playing really hard. I think your baby will let you know anyways, so if he is ok with one nap- why not?

Mines about to be a year, he started only taking one nap a day during the past month. which is awesome because bedtime is waaay easier without that second nap.

my little girl who is 1 years old is doing 1 nap a day now. She goes down around 11 and has a 1 and a half to 3 and a half hour nap...depending on how tired she is. She isn't cranky in the afternoon which is great so it doesn't bother me that she only has 1 sleep.

My son started doing the same thing for the past few days i think they know what they need and we as mothers can notice the best what they want so I think that as long as they are happy and in a good mood we don't need to worry :) They will let us know when they are tired if you know what I mean :)))

my 11 month old still does two naps but you are the only one who knows your son.
If he is doing OK with one nap and not too cranky in the later morning or evening then it is fine you could try putting him down a little earlier so he gets a little longer nap if you wake him from his nap at 3 :)

I would say not. My pediatrician said that at this time, he'll be ready any time to move to 1 nap. So it sounds like he's right on track and doing perfectly. He said the only thing to watch out for is any mood change. If he becomes more moody or grouchy - then he likely still needs that extra nap.
