Sick Babies

Does anyone else's little one get sick a lot?? At first my son never got sick. He has severe acid relux which is a pain, but no illnesses until about 4 1/2 months old and now we can't stay well! In November my little guy got a bad upper respitory infection that took about two weeks to over come. The last 10 days he has had severe bronchitis and no signs of getting better! We've been to 3 doctors with the bronchitis. 1st dr gave an antibiotic which he was allergic to! 2nd dr said its nothing to worry about, then we took him to a 3rd dr because he is wheezing so bad. We got a new antibiotic and my son has to stay in a little tent at home with a humidifier cuz he's so close to pneumonia! It breaks my heart to see him so sick and struggling to breathe! How do you manage taking care of your babies, especially those with school or work? I start school again in a few days, hopefully he'll be feeling better by then!

My little guy has been sick since 4 weeks. He wasn't as bad as yours, but he stays stopped up. I've been breastfeeding him, which I thought was supposed to help, so I've been upset about it. However, at his 6 month check up the doctor said that it might be allergies and started him on Claratin. I've been lucky that my in-laws and my parents are both within driving distance and have been there to help. They all still work, but we all take turns taking days off and that helps.

Amen ladies. I go to the corner store when my hubby is home just to get out of the house. I think my son is going a little stir crazy too. He is feeling better today. I am crossing my fingers that we are on an upswing

My daughter is sick all of the time. She catches everything. If someone around her is sick she is sick within a few days. Its so frustrating! I always feel like it is my fault. I do everything I can to keep her healthy. Boil her bottles and pacies, and disinfect her toys but nothing works...hope your little boy feels better soon, and just know that you're not alone! We've been dealing with her virual infection since Christmas Eve, she started to get better and then boom she got yet another cold that she caught from her cousin. It never seems to end! We've had her to the ER once and to the doctor once in the last 2 weeks. I can't wait for warm weather and for this sick season to be over!

Ya my son when feeling well is such a happy boy!! But we haven't been able to see that for a while since he's been so sick! My son up until now was suppose to stay home except to go to the dr so we haven't hardly left the house in 2 months! It is VERY frustrating and sad to see them so sick!

We are drowning in antibiotics here too! My son has had ear infections (back to back) since the begining of dec. We are on our 3rd antibiotic. We now have the nebulizer b/c his congestion went into his chest. He is such a happy baby normally and he has been miserable. It breaks my heart. He has not attended his full 3 days of day care in a month... and yeah I still pay for it. Its frustrating and heart wrenching

I understand, we also had a christmas from hell!! Turns out the doctors were wrong about the severe bronchitis and he really had RSV!! So we were treating him for the wrong this for weeks! The RSV got so bad because we didn't know he had it so we were doing breathing treatments 12 times a day!! Thank goodness he is finally almost over the RSV and were down to 5 breathing treatments a day! Unless his breathing gets bad then we have to do an extra treatment! We also found out he has asthma. He has been going to the pediatrician every other day for the RSV and at our first appointment of this week found out he has a bad double ear infection and at our second appointment this week found out he has a stomach virus on top of the ear infections and rsv!!! It is so exhausting taking care of sick babies!! I'm so relieved the rsv is finally starting to go away!

Thankfully, my son's only been sick once, and we're just getting over it. He had a minor ear infection in his right ear, a minor sinus infection & a minor case of bronchitis. He's been on Amoxicillin since last Tuesday. He's also teething.

we have just had the xmas from hell with sick toddler, sick baby and sick husband so I feel for you!! its tough. My LO has just had broncilitis, an eye infection and a chest infection (he also has reflux) . after 4 weeks of illness the household is finally disease-free and I am crossing my fingers it stays that way a bit longer. Its heartbreaking and exhausting!!

hi there ive had the same problem with my son hes bein in an hospital 3 times with bronclitis his bein in the oxygen tent for 3 days but everytimes hes poorly he breaks teeth ,also my son has got reflux and hes also milk intolerent witch is horrible cos he can only have serent food
