Hello! My son, Isaiah is almost 6 months (born June 1) and still wakes up multiple times during the night and has recently stopped napping!! He naps off/on throughout the day for very short periods (like 10 minutes) but will not stay asleep. This is a new thing, he used to nap twice a day for 2 hours or more so I am not sure what the problem is. Has anyone out there tried a sleeping program that has worked well? I would rather not try a program that requires letting the baby cry--I am too weak to stand it! Thanks!

Thanks for all the advice! I noticed you all mentioned putting him to sleep in his own room, and like Rebecca, I am not sure I am ready for that! I guess if I want any sleep I will have to consider it! And after last night (he woke up at least 6 times!!!) I am a lot closer to putting him in his own room!

hi Teresa! My son is 5 and a half months old and he has slept through the night since about a month old. One thing that I did was put him in his own room since he was born and started a routine right away. As for nap times, Pierson will only sleep in a dark dark room, if there is any light he only sleeps for about 15- 20 minutes at a time whereas in a dark room, he will sleep up to 2 hours. Also, at night, don't let him nap within a few hours before you put him to bed, play with him a lot and tire him right out, that may help him sleep longer. Also, make sure he eats as much as he can. Hope this helps!

Hi Teresa, I am going through the same thing at the moment, My son is 5 1/2 mths old and is still waking up 2-4 times a night sometimes every hour. I have heard that things can settle down if you put them in their own room during the night... I haven't done that yet... (Don't think i'm quite ready).. well at least until i buy a baby monitor!

My son has about 2 naps a day, what i found works is about 1/2 an hour before he usually goes for a nap i put him in his jumper so he tires himself out and after a drink he usually goes down to sleep quite easily. Hope this helps..I too am new to this!!

Does your son sleep in your room? We've put our daughter to sleep in her crib since we brought her home & we've been very fortunate that she sleeps through the night...some friends of mine who have little ones said that they've had problems with the baby sleeping through the night & they thought maybe it was because they were sleeping in their room...don't know, just a thought...as far as naps...my daughter will nap for about 45 min in the morning & about an hour to 1 1/2 in the afternoon, I have noticed that when I lay her down sometimes, she tends to be very nosey & will not nap well, ever once in a while I will move her to another room...I'm new at this...hope it helped...good luck!
