my oldest had night terrors too and he sleepwalks too. he out grew the night terrors but still sleepwalks a bit. with the terrors(which were scary for me) i just went into his room and sat by his bed to make sure he was ok and waited for him to go back to sleep. sometimes he would freak out more if i touched him or talked to him, so i would just sit there to make sure he didnt fall out of bed and was ok..he had them young as well and grew out of them by 4yrs old

My oldest, who is almost nine, had night terrors. They started pretty young like your son. At first they were really scary, no matter what I did she would not wake up. She would sometimes sleep walk too. But we learned that they are really not a big deal! Although try telling that to a mom, who is awakened in the middle of the night by their child screaming bloody murder! But it did make me feel better that in the morning she had no memory of it the next morning. When she was a little older I would just calmly go into her room and tell her to lay down and go back to sleep. Most times this would be all she needed to stop the terror. Sometimes I would have to go in a couple times through out the night! I know its harder with a little one, my 8 month old daughter has had a couple herself . But remember although scary, they are normal, and they out grow them!
