HHmm...My family (my three year old, five year old, and me) prefer the orginal books that are cute and rhyme. Like...a few of our favorites are...

and my personal favorite is one I read the kids to teach them empathy (and it works) though it makes me a sad a little...it's called "For Every Child a Better World" and it talks about how there are kids out there who have no homes or medicine...almost no food and or live in a place where there's war. It's a good book to help your kids appreciate everything they have too (and one of the only ones on the list that doesn't Rhyme).

** We also really liked the books mentioned Llama Llama Red Pajama, Because a Little Bug Went Kachoo, I Love You Stinky Face, and other Dr Suess..

His all time favorite Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. Close second Bugs For Lunch. Go To Bed and Dinosaur Valley.

My son won't let me read anything else apart from Green Eggs and Ham, There's a Wocket in my Pocket and The Fox in Socks. I think he likes that they rhyme. I nearly know the stories without looking at the books now :)

My son loves everything Thomas the Tank Engine lol all the stories included! But he really likes these too..

if you are tired of some of them, just put them away for a little bit (obviously not it he notices and gets upset) and whip out some oldies but goodies or some new ones. I do that with book and toys :) Gotta keep things interesting!

my daughter likes to have the same books read to her too. Sometimes i will choose the books as she is ALWAYS picking out the same ones but most times i don't mind. She loves the 'Spot' books, 'Eye Spy' books, 'the Very Hungry Catterpillar' and the classic Walt Disney books.

My daughter loved Dr. Seuss for a while. We try to go to the library on a regular basis. That way we always have new books to read. It is also a fun outing for my daughter, there are puzzles, stuffed animals and other fun games for her.

We love The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Hurry Hurry, Where is The Green Sheep?, Time For Bed. My boys love the Mr Men books too and they have just discovered The Berenstain Bears & the Spooky Old Tree which I loved when I was a little girl :-)
