What time does your 6 or 7 month old nap and sleep...

[deleted account] ( 42 moms have responded )

...and for how long? Sophie naps at about 9am for approx 1h, then 1pm for approx 2h, then I try to get her to sleep from 7pm -7am although she wakes a few times in the night. Am interested to see what others are doing.

8:00pm to 8:00am, then naps from 10:00am for about 1 1/2 hours then naps at about 2:00 for 30 min. then naps again at 5:00pm for about 30 min. She's a good sleeper. Sleeps through the night and has since 2 months! All my kids have been good sleepers though!

Melody is 7 months 1 week. She goes to bed at 7pm, wakes at around 3am, I give her a quick feed, then she sleeps until around 5 or 6 and wants to wake for the day (too early for me!) She naps for about 30mins or an hour at 10am, and takes another nap at around 2pm that lasts anywhere from 45mins to 1.5 hours.

Jake just turned 7 months and his nap schedule has been a little messed up lately because he has been spending more time with sitters (my mom, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law), but he usually sleeps at nite from 7pm-7am, and then takes at least a one hour nap at 9:30, he is then up for about 2 hours and then goes down again for another hour, two if I am lucky. He usually does not wake up during the nite except for last week (ear infection).

My son is 7 months, BF and on solids , He goes down to sleep at 7.30pm, wakes at 4.30am hungry, has a feed and goes bk down till 7.30am . Has a nap at 9.30am for and hour then come 12.30/1pm is ready for nap number two that lasts for two hours. My son also used to wake regularly in the night, every two hours for a feed until I started control crying. I give in in the morning as I feel he's too hungry to leave to cry at 4.30am , otherwise he will just keep waking every half hour if I don't feed him which leaves both mother and baby very tired and grumpy , hope this helps.

Hi, Jennifer:) My 7 month old daughter goes to bed at 10 pm. She usually wakes up at 8:30-9 am. She naps 1- 2times a day. She sleeps well all the night, without waking. During the day she's very active. I'm pretty sure good sleep depends on food. My baby has good appetite and sleep well for now. I think you can try to get her to sleep later. Good luck!

Quoting Leslie:

My baby has your exact schedule. He only wakes up to drink or if a body part is hanging out of a rail. Do you think its a bad thing to feed him during the night. even though he goes right back to sleep. Im not sure.

I feed my daughter once sometimes twice in the night and she goes straight back off to sleep. She was going all night for a short time then changed her mind and wanted milk again. Ive tried different things but she still wakes for it and she drains the bottles so she must want it and i think she'll stop when shes ready. (well i hope she does!! lol)

hi my daughter gets up about 6.30 but its a real struggle to get her to nap if im lucky she will have 30 mins in the morning 30 mins in the afternoon. She gets so grumpy but she just will not sleep until bed time. She has dinner and a bath and is in bed most days by 6. Its the only time of day i can put her in her cot and she will be out like a light, im sure it because she thinks she is missing out on something if she sleeps in the day.

Your so lucky, Jimmy wakes up at 4.30am has a bottle then goes back to sleep till 7.30/8.00am then he has a nap about 10.30 for 30 mins then he will probably have a nother 30 min nap in the afternoon about 2pm.  I am so jealous that your baby sleeps that long i hardly get a chance to do any housework.

My daughter who is nearly 8mths hardly sleeps at all during the day, today for example she was up at 7am had about 15 mins at about 11am and then nothing all afternoon whe went down to sleep at 7.30 tonight she more often than not sleeps the night through, my health nurse said not to worry about her day sleeps if she was cranky or not sleeping through the night then it would be a concern but shes usually the happiest little girl

Evan goes to bed around 9 or 9:30. Lately, he wakes up once (around 2 or 3am for a bottle) then is up again between 8 or 9am.  He goes for a nap about 2 to 2 1/2 hrs after he wakes up and it usually lasts for a couple of hours. Then he's up again for approx 3 hrs, then down again for 2.  His afternoon nap is anywhere from 3-5.  If he's hyper and wants to play, and doesn't want to sleep, and it's past 6, I won't let him sleep, because then it will throw off his night time schedule.  He'll just go to bed earlier than usual (between 7:30 and 8).

Then she fights it all day and will not sleep unless I take her for a truck ride. She is in bed at 7pm. So yeah I hope it gets better :)

Luca usually goes to bed around 7:30 or 8pm then wakes @ 5am for a bottle and will sleep until 6am.  He has always been an early riser!!  He naps around 7:30 or 8am for about 2 hours, then neeps a catnap (30min) @ 1pm, then his afternoon nap will last about an hour.

Micah gets up around 6:30am. He has a morning nap around 8:30 (about 45 minutes) and an afternoon nap around 2:30 (1-1/2 to 2 hours). He goes to bed around 8:30pm. We get him up at 10pm for one last bottle. We feed him in his room with the lights low; he usually falls asleep when we're trying to burp him and sleeps through the night.

I am envious of you ladies! My son goes down at 8pm and is up usually 2-3 times a night. He wakes between 7:30-8am. Lasts about 2.5 hours and goes down an about 10am for about 30min-1hour. Then another 2-2-5 hours and a half hour nap. Then one more 30 min nap somewhere between 3:30 and 4:30. Dinner at 7. Bath at 7:30. Bed at 7:45-8:00. I would kill for a 2 hour nap in the afternoon!

My daughter Aubrey who is 7 1/2 months old has been on a great schedule since about 2-3 months old. She goes down at night between 8-9PM and wakes between 7-8AM. She's up for about 1 hour to an hour and a half at most, then her morning nap. It usually lasts an hour to sometimes 2 hours (rare) then she's up and playing for 2 or so, eats lunch, then down again for 2-3 hours. Up again until about 5:30-6 then a little power nap, dinner, play, then bath & bed. She never wakes in the night unless she was sick.

My babe wakes up at 4:30 am every day, or a little sooner. (Which is what time I get up too, luckily.) At daycare she will typically have two 1.5 hr naps, one around 8am and the other in the early afternoon. (When at home she takes one 2 hr nap between 11am and 2 pm). She goes to bed between 8:30 and 9:00 pm.

My daughter is basically on the same sleep schedule, but she sleeps through the night from 8 p.m. to about 8 a.m.  She takes a morning nap around 10 a.m. and another at 1 p.m.  Her morning nap lasts about an hour and her afternoon nap lasts around 2 hours.

My 7 month wakes around 7:00am (can be earlier, can by slightly later). Up for around 1.5 - 2 hours. Down to nap around 9:00 for 1.5 - 2.0 hours. Up for around 2.5 hours. Down for a nap around 1:30 for about 1.5 hours.

Normally is too tired to last from 3:00 - 7:00 so I normally try and put him down for a little nap around 5:00 for 20 - 30 minutes. He normally fights this nap though even though I can see he's really tired! He'll be able to drop this nap soon though.

Last bottle at 7:00pm then in bed. Still wakes a couple of times during the night at which time I just have to go in and give him a bit of a pat and he's straight back to sleep. Sometimes, he'll cry out for 30 seconds or so and will put himself back to sleep. Has only slept right through the night 3 times ever!

He takes a nap around noon or 1:00 for anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Another nap around 5 or 6:00 pm for anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Then to bed again around 10 or so........we're not morning people so I'm glad he's on a late schedule!

Reilly goes to bed at 8pm and sleeps till 7-730am although he gets up crying for his pacifier. He takes a nap at 930-10 for 3o mns, again at around 130-2 for another 30 mns. Then he naps again at 4 for 1-2 hours. I've found that the more and better he sleeps during the day the better he sleeps at night.

we keep kind of crazy hours... we typically wake by around 10:00 am.

my 7 month old usually goes down for a nap between 2-3 pm. sometimes he naps between 2-3 hours. i use that time to get my 3 year old down for her nap and to start dinner.

after he eats dinner he usually naps about another hour and then we all start getting ready for bed.

My son goes to bed between 7-8pm (usually wakes up around 2am, and goes right back to sleep after a bottle) and wakes up at 7-7:30. Takes his first Nap around 9 (usually last about 1-2 hours) and then takes an afternoon nap around 1 (last anywhere from 2-3 hours).

Aubrey will go down at 8:00 and sleep till 7am-8am. Then about 2 and half hours later she will go down at about 10:30 and sleep for at least an hour sometimes longer, than at about 2 or 3 she will go down for another hour sometimes longer. so it seems like everyone is around the same just the times varies. She does not wake up in the middle of the night though.

My little boy goes to bed aroung 8:30 and sleeps until 8 or so, (usually up once during the night) and then naps at 10 and 2. His naps are between 1-2 hours. He takes an evening nap around 6 for 30 minutes just so he can make it until bedtime. It's actually been a long hard struggle to get the naps in order and to get him to sleep more than 30 minutes at a time. I would say that 3-7 in the afternoon is a long time to stay awake. She might sleep better at night if she got another little cat nap in the evening, around 5. Hope that helps.

Marleigh goes to bed at 8pm. She wakes usally somewhere between 7 and 8am. She'll be up for about an hour and a half (rarely any longer). I put her down for a nap at 930ish and she'll sleep 30min-1hr (mostly only 30mins). We'll be up about 2&1/2 hours then, so between 12 and 1, she's ready for her afternoon nap. We usually sleep 30-2hrs. She's so unpredictable. We went a week and slept and hour and half during her afternoon nap and I was sooo excited, but we're recently back to 30mins afternoon nap. Today...we'll see, she's been asleep almost an hour now. We usually require a late afternoon nap, which time depends on how long her afternoon nap is. Again, we're up about 2&1/2 hrs and she'll take a 30min nap. Sometimes, she'll have 4 naps, but usually it's 3. If she doesn't take a long afternoon nap, then we'll go out and about. Otherwise, we stay at home and continue with our routine hoping she'll get into the 2 nap per day. I really don't care that she takes so many naps during the day, as long as she continues to sleep through the night like she does. I owe her sleeping through the night I think mostly to the fact that she is a thumbsucker!!!
