My 2 year old has always been a good sleeper until recently. He actually goes down great at daycare but not at home. When he goes down for a nap or to bed he screams. So, we leave the room and then return shortly after. Eventually he will sleep but nap and bedtime sometimes takes almost 2 hours! So, sometimes he doesn't get a nap. Is he phasing out naps? Is this is a phase? Is he playing a game?

At 2 there is a natural separation anxiety phase again which may be having an effect as it is only happening with you at home, there is a good technique which means that you put them to bed, they cry you wait 2 minutes then go back in, don't say anything but lie them back down. Repeat as neccesary but double the time gap each time. It usually takes no more than 5 days to solve the problem. My 2 year old still needs a nap so probably not time to phase it out. Good Luck
