I know that all kids are different and will ht milestones at different rates, but have any of you 2nd or 3rd time moms found that your June '09 baby is hitting milestones earlier than your first, or is it just my peanut wanting to keep up with big brother?

Just curious. I'd love to hear about your experiences.

yes my Daughter(10mths) is doing everything alot earlier then her sister (3yrs) and my 3 year old did and does everything earlier then my son (5yrs). I think this happens because the older siblings encourages or makes them do things before they are really ready.

i have the opposite! my little guy (10 months today) is doing everything much later than his older brother (2 years). my oldest was crawling at 6 months...and my little guy just started crawling 2 weeks ago. he is pulling up on things...but not yet cruising (my oldest was walking at 9 months old). with my boys the youngest quickly realized that his older brother (15 months between them) would bring him everything if he cried...so he has gotten lazy! : )

My son is doing everything before my daughter did, when she was a baby.I think the second learns alot from the first.

My oldest son Nathaniel (7) set the bar in terms of hitting milestones. Walking before 9 months, talking before 9 months and as it sits he is the one that hit all the milestones earliest of all my kiddos. Nicholas took his first steps free and clear last week and his talking is starting to pick up. He's on par with my daughter (4) in terms of when she started walking and talking.

yeah my older two waited until their one yr birthdays to walk but my 10 month old surprised me when he started walking a couple weeks ago. he even looks like them throwing tantrums.

Oh yes I completeLy believe that! My first daughter didn't start walking til she was almost a year and a half. My second daughter 10mths is doing everthing she can to keep up with my first daughter now 6. My 10 month old can cruse anything and is letting go to walk by herself. This is unsussesful but she is still brave it. She climbs everything! So yes I do believe babies with older sibling, definatly hit there milestones early to try and keep up.

My little man (10 months on the 1st) hit most of his milestones before his 5 year old sister when she was a baby. I think it has something to do with them wanting to be able to interact with their older siblings and be a part of their play.
