My little boy is not so little! He was born on the 23rd of June and is 24 or more inches long (been a month since measured length) and weighs 17lbs 6 oz and is growing rapidly. Everyone is always shocked when I tell them that he is only 4 months old! I think he is probably in the high 90th percentile right now for height and weight. Just curious if anyone elses baby is his size?

Parker was only 7lbs 9oz at birth, so not huge. And he is also a breastfed baby!

I would talk to your doctor. Both my nephews were 10 lb babies and both are tall and slim. They are around 10 now and very sharp. My oldest nephew was reading and doing simple math BEFORE he got into kindergarten. All babies are different it's not about weight it's about giving them the nutrition they need to grow. Deprive them of the nutritriants they need and you're doing more harm than good. It's just like growing a garden some grow faster than others but end result is still the same if not better than the rest.

My son was 17 lbs at 4 months, in the low 90's percentile I think. Just took him for his 6 month visit and is now 19 lbs 9 oz, in the low 80's percentile. He's up there in the percentiles for everything---height, weight, head circumference. He is a solid boy and has some extra rolls, but he's healthy and such a happy boy. He's thriving just fine--that's what I keep telling myself when I think he might be a little too big for his age. My older son was always on the smaller side. But I know my 6 month old will probably lose a lot of his pudge when he starts walking.

My son is almost 6 months (born 16th June) he was 8pound 15 ounces was b/f for 10weeks but since been on formula at the 5month check he weighed ( i will have to convert because in New Zealand we use cm and kgs) 9.78 kg = 21.52 pound WOW!! and 72cm = 28.3 inches.

My little boy (also breastfed) is also a "biggun"--at his 6-month checkup earlier this week, he was 22.5 lbs (top of the charts) and 27.5 inches long (90th percentile). The good news is that our pediatrician said there is zero concern about obesity at this age...it also sounds like your baby is proportionate, so I'm sure he's fine! :)

My little guy weighs 18pds 10z and is 27inches long! He just turned 6 months old. What on earth are they putting in formula these days! Or what are they putting in food that's being passed through breast milk in your case!!!! :)

I hear the same thing when I tell people that my son is only 5 months old. He was born on the 21st and was 8lbs 4oz. He is a breastfed baby only and at his 4 month check up he was 16.6 and 26 inches long. My doctor told me also not to worry that he is doing great! Look like we just have healthy growing baby boys! :)

wow, looks like all these june babies are big babies! lol. my son casey was 19 1/2 inches at birth which the doc told me was on the short side, by his 2 week check-up he was already 21 1/2, im assuming there wasn't enough room in my belly for the little squirt to grow! now he is growing like a bean stalk! im having so much fun with him! Today he attemped to crawl, he went backwards but he did it! woo-hoo casey, my overachiever!!! he has been hitting all his milestones way too early for me to handle! i miss my liitle munchkin, now he's a big boy!!!

My son Jamie was born on 7/6 and weighed 7lbs 12 at birth. At 6 months old he now weighs 21lbs 2, and has been over the 91st percentile all the way. However his length was along the 91st until 17 weeks when he dropped to the 50th percentile. He has only been measure for his length twice since he was born so he was 64cms at 17 weeks.

my son is very close... he was born on the 21st of june, at his last appointment a couple weeks ago he was about 18 1/2lbs, and is 25 3/4 inches long. he is also a breastfed only baby.... i actually just started to give him about a tbsp of rice cereal once a day. he loves it. the doctors say he is very healthy and what ever i'm doing to keep doing it. i wouldn't be to worried about it..... it's alot more common than you think. oh and he was 7 lbs 13oz and 20 inch at birth.

My two babies were actually off the percentile charts for their weight and my daughter is off the charts for her height! It's been about a month since I have measured and weighed them, they are 5 months and 16 months old. They are not fat and my partner and I are just average size so I don't know where they get their extreme measurements from lol!

my son is very big as well! he was born the 29th and is 27inches and wieghs 18.4 pounds! he is not fat at all, actually he has chubby cheeks but other than that he does not have an ounce of fat on him! my fiance is 6'4 and im 5'8 so im assuming that could be part of it. the doc says he is perfect so im not too concerned, but whenever i bring him for check-up the nurses always give me 2 months ahead for a care packet. they always assume he is 2 months older than he is! the funny thing is, is that he developmentally ahead of the game, he is reaching all his milestones at a very fast pace! good luck with you little or should i say big one! lol!!!

My little guy is a lot like yours when it comes to weight. A month ago he was 17lbs 3oz. He's tall though at 27.5inches and was born the end of June too. He's fitting in 9mo clothes (some 12 month stuff too). When he was born he was 10lbs 12oz though :p

My boy was born June 28th :) He was 16lbs 5oz at his 4 month (19 week) check up and 26 1/5inches long. I think he's started coming down in percentile. He was in the 95th percentile at 2 months for height and now he's 89th.

Cooper was 8lbs 6oz at birth and he too is a breastfed baby :) Sounds like they're both doing great!

yeah my son is too he was born june 29th and on his 4 month visit was 17.12 lbs and 26 inches so dont feel bad he is not fat nor chubby or anything he is a perfectly heathly baby and taller babies usually should weigh more then those shorter babies so it is perfectly normal

My son was born June 11 @ 6lbs 15 oz and is now almost 6 months and about 16 lbs he was due June 23rd. At 4 months he was 14lbs 12.5 oz and 25 inches, hasn't had his 6 month check up yet but was 16lbs two weeks ago when I weighed him. At 2 weeks old he was 7lbs 9 oz and in the 10th % for size, he is slowly growing, but porking up now that he is on food! :)

My little boy was born on June 18th and he weighs around 23 pounds. He was 6lbs 12 ounces when he was born.

My son at his 4 month old visit was 15.6 lbs and 26 inches long. He was born june 17th, 2009. So he was really tall 90th percentail, and 50th for his weight. Sounds pretty normal to me!

[deleted account]

well it looksl ike there are a lot of big babies out there! My son was born June 18th, at 10lbs 6oz, and 22inches long, he's now 5 1/2 months old and about 20lbs and very tall!

My little guy was born 6/25/09. At his 4 month appointment (he was 4 1/2 months at the time) he weight 17lbs 6 ozs and his height was 27 1/4 in. He's in the 80% for his weight and 97% for his height. My pediatrician said that he was the average height of a 8 month old! Riley was 7lbs 8oz when he was born and he is also strictly breastfed.

Hi there, Well my baby Liam was born 11th June 09 and he was 7lb 7oz. He is a shockingly big lad in lenghth and a wee bit chunky but i wouldn't say fat. He was over 20lb at 4 and half months and he is long also. He has just started to slow down now, he almost 6 months now and was 21lb 6 oz when weighed last monday. He is very healthy and loving his purees etc so don;t worry. I was really worried for a while as folk were surprised by his size too but as long as baby is happy and healthy that is the main thing ok. :o) Denise

My son is six months old today (born June 4th) and is about 28 inches tall and 21 lbs. He is in mostly 9 month clothes. It sounds like your little one is similar. We were told that he is proportionate in height/weight and healthy. He too was small at first but after the first month sprung up. At least they don't feel as fragile that way.

Pierce was born on June 27th and he is 27 inches and 20.5 pounds! We get comments all the time about him looking WAY older and bigger than other babies his age. He was only 7 lbs 5 oz at birth. We are just good at feeding our babes! Dr. says he's looking good, healthy and in good proportions.

thats so funny. my son was born jun22nd and now he's 20lbs.he's also a breast feed baby but his birth weight was 9lb7.5oz. the doctor said he was fine, but i think if u start giving food and cereal which will fill ur baby u want feed as much and his weigh gain will slow down.
