Baby does not wave...

My daughter will be 10 months in a few days and she doesn't wave, clap, blow kisses, or give kisses very often either. I'm not too worried about it. Perhaps your son is just not interested in those things, does he mimic other things you do, such as noises? If so he is mimicking you, just not the way you want him to.

I agree its never good to compare your kid to other kids the same age... all you will do is worry. The truth is babies develop those things at different rates- the important thing isn't so much that they're learning this or that by a certain age- its that they are developing at all. And it sounds like your little guy certainly is! If it makes you feel any better, my nearly 10-month-old also doesn't wave yet. He also doesn't clap. The only things he really mimics are raspberries, tongue clicks (for some reason, lol), this weird growling sound he started doing, and pounding on the table/floor/whatever. They'll get there!

my little boy just started clapping a couple weeks ago (and now that is all he does!) he still will not wave or blow kisses...and he is very picky with who he gives kisses out to. i am sure he will be fine! my little guy will be 10 months next week...just started crawling last week...still cant pull up to stand on something...only has 2 teeth...but he is perfect! : ) just enjoy what he is doing now and the rest will come soon enough!

My son doesn't wave or clap. He is very stubborn and won't even let you help him clap, he pulls his hands away. He won't blow kisses but will give them if you get close enough. I wouldn't worry. If he gets to a year old and hasn't started with the pincer grasp I would just bring it up with a health nurse but other than that don't fret!

My daughter is really fast at learnig some things than other things. she was really quick at catching on the pincher grasp and crawling but still doesn't wave and only recently started pulling herself up and clapping, she was just as content as could be with getting into everything while crawling. she still don't blow kisses or even give kisses half the time. Just remember....no one learns the same way or at the same pace. stop worrying and bask in the glory of your beautiful healthy baby.

Comparing your child to other children will drive you crazy into worry. Stop it! If this is still happening years from now, then you will deal with then, but all of this worrying really won't help. This site has some helpful suggestions, but don't get caught up in the comparisons. I heard a saying once, "no one graduates high school in diapers". So, breath and stop stressing out your baby. How do you feel when you are compared to other moms? Ever think of it that way? Just saying....
