Baby sick of jarred food?

My son won't touch jarred food and won't let me feed him anymore either! He loves feeding himself so we give him whatever we're having.

To be honest after my first I don't even give them baby food. It seemed like it was a waste of money and my little girl didn't like it much anyways. With my 2nd I planned on just giving him what we ate and grinding it up, or making baby food for him, but my mom bought us a bunch of baby food we had to go through, and it was a fight getting him to eat it. Now with my 10 month old, after I got him through the basics, ( I would just mash up fresh fruits and vegetables), I grind up our dinner and give it to him. He eats it like he can't get enough. I don't have any problems with him eating. It's much tastier than baby food. You do have to be careful, some babies get allergic reactions, and that's why they have the recommendations they do with food, but in my experience, my babies have been fine. Of course I do start out slow, just to make sure. Hope that helps.

Yes, by 8 months my lil guy wont eat any babyfood but the fruits. He still likes those but im introducing small chunks now so even that will probably go bye bye.

My daughter just started turning away when I try and give her anything in a jar. I can mix fruit with her cereal/oatmeal and she eats that, but it's in a bowl. She wants whatever my hubby and I are eating. But I don't mind. I did switch her to formula bc I am pregnant and my nipples hurt extremely bad, or I wouldn't have. Idk if that has anything to do with her not wanting jar foods, but since I started formula she has acted this way. Anyway hope this helps.

My daughter has been pretty much just eating whatever we eat since she was about 9 months old, doctor said that's fine as long as it's small enough and soft enough for her to mash with her gums.

We used jarred food with our daughter but now with Jack we haven't ever givinhim any. We just grind up whatever we're having and he eats with us. softer foods we just give to him in smaller pieces and he feeds himself.

Both my kids quit eating jarred food at about 9 mos. But it wasn't a problem for my son and isn't one for my daughter. Just make sure not to give him anything too tough or chewy and he should be fine. :)

my son did the same thing at 8/9 months he refuses ANYTHING from his jarred baby food.we are doing all table food now and he still isnt that interested hed rather drink down a bottle then go play again lol but he still eats more then he would if we try to give him baby food. The doctor said it was fine that solids before a year arent necessary any way for nutriton they are more or less used to teach them how to chew and eat solids.

Yes! My son is the same way...and he can't eat as much as he wishes he could (still gags on quite a bit) and is really choosy, I sneak some baby food in while he is munching on other things, to ensure he is getting enough balance and calories (there are plenty of baby foods i find repulsive btw, but i give him the ones that seem good to me, esp veggies, fruits, and 2nd food mixes). As his repetoire of solids he will/can eat continue to expand we'll let go of the jarred versions of things. We just keep offering new things to see what will work for him!

I never used jarred food. we did blw and my daughter has been eating everything we eat since 6.5-7 months. I honestly hate the jar food and think it tastes vile so i would never feed it to my daughter.

Yes,exactly! My daughter is trying little bites of my food & doesn't seem to want her plain,boring jarred food.(Can't really say I blame her.) She's more interested in what were eating instead.She'll be 10 mths in 1 day.

We never did jar food, so I didn't have this problem, but there is no reason why he cant just have what you are eating all of the time. Since we started we have don BLW, so my daughter has always don finger food. No she just has what we are having.

yea once i started him on table food & the graduate meals he rarly will eat jarred food for me & if the only way he will do that is if i mix it with the ceral for him that way it makes it thicker hopefully this helps

My son is not interested at all with jarred food alone... I usually give him something Im eating.. like an egg or meat along with baby cereal and jarred food mixed together and it usually works. Hope this helps!
