It took me a full 8 mths after my C-section to recovery fully. I am now 14 mths out and still have pain every now and then. =(

My mother had her last c-section 11 years ago and says when she ovulates she has some pain still to this day. I had mine almost 6 months ago and still every once in a while have pain but i heard it is completly normal because they had to cut through so many nerves.

I had a c section june 3 my son was breech. I still get twinges and pains at my incision, and its still sore. Im completely back to lifting heavy things and going about my life like normal but every now and again i might turn the wrong way or doing something and it will hurt and stop me in my tracks. It itched when I first came home but thats part of the healing, but its starting to itch again and im 6 months post c section. its still a little numb if i touch it too. If my husband grabs me in that area its realy sensitive especialy if he's trying to lift me it feels like the least bit of pulling at that area will rip it open. that may just be a fear for me though I dont know ?

I had a c-section also, june 4th 09. They cut extremly low. Below the hairline low. the right half has no feeling at all and the left half gets a slight pain once in a while. It does get irritated sometimes if something rubs the wrong way. A few weeks after they took the staples out, I had problems with bleeding from a staple hole and part of the incision. I would tape a decent amount of gauze to the area and put pantyliners in that part of my panties. I would bleed thru within a hour or so. They told me to come in, told me it was normal. I dont know about that. It took a couple weeks but it eventually stopped bleeding.

Also glad I'm not the only one! I had an emergency c-section June 22nd and while it doesn't hurt constantly, I certainly notice discomfort on occasion, especially after long periods of carrying a 7.7kg baby around :) I've had comments from friends that it can take a long time (18mths+) to feel totally 'normal' again.

I had an emergency c-section in June also. I still have some sensitivity, but I wouldn't really call it pain. It itches a lot still and the scar is still really dark purple. I think that will take a while to fade. My sensitivity is about an inch above my insicion and it's tender to the touch. Like when I rub a washcloth over it (even lightly) in the shower it hurts a little. Does that sound familiar to anyone? Also, how long before the itching stops. It's still numb so itching it doesn't relieve the feeling at all.

Been there, and done it all. I had my c-section in june, have had an infection (or as doc called it yeast build-up) it itches, is numb and because I have that flabby belly I gotta lift up to see it,and it get's irritated from sweat. I do very strenuous work(besides the housework which is a job itself) for a living, and I sometimes have to just stop and wait for my muscles to stop feeling like they are tearing. I had issues today just carrying the groceries in DARN IT! My doctor says it's all normal, just keep area clean and a girdle-type panty wouldn't hurt.

I had my second c-section this last june... Just keep with it, my first took FOREVER to feel somewhat normal. It does get better, and you get used to it. I remember not wanting to wear regular pants forever because they were irritating. Just to let you know the second time around is WAY easier, recovery, everything!!!

I had my c-section in june. I had pain for the first two weeks, then severe itching, then that numb feeling as the nerve endings were healing. Now I only have an awareness of the scar if my clothes irritate the skin. Since 6 weeks after the surgery, I have massaged the area regularly, stretching the skin around it, moving the layers underneath, and softening the scar tissue itself. i think this has helped me to heal quickly, and the reason that i didn't have any pain so soon after.

I had my c-section in June as well. My incision got infected and took 5 wks. to heal. I do not have pain there but sometimes it just feels uncomfortable. I would call your doctor if you still have pain.

My sister and I both had c-sections, (4 days apart, hers was on June 5th and mine was the 9th) mine was an emergency though. Anyways both of us are still having a little pain, mine is still numb above the incision and mine also bubbled up. But the doctor said it was normal. My sister has been putting mederma scar cream on hers and it is barely visible now. I'm thinking about trying the cream myself.

My c-sec scar is a little numb and the occassional twinge of pain is thought to be normal, but I would like to say to Esin: if you are STILL bleeding GO TO YOUR DOCTOR! Although the internal tear will take a long time to heal, it needs the skin to be intact to protect it and if your body is still having to fight infection on the surface, it wont be able to concentrate on healing the muscles etc.

Hi I'm Enid and I have had 3 c-sections in as many years plus a tubal reversal in the same spot the year before that. I have the terrible itching but no pain. I guess my body has become immune.

wow I am so glad I'm not the only one! I also had an emergency c-section and I have a wide area of where it is still numb...depending on the pants I am wearing I may have a slight discomfort/pain where it touches my incision. My dr. said it could take 6 months or longer for it to feel normal again...but I think it will always feel this way...wish that my scar would fade though it is still dark purple!

I also had mine in June and it is still tender. This was my second so I think the scar tissue is the reason!

I still get pain at my incision site too. My doctor told me that the pain is completly normal (unfortunately) and that it just takes a long time for all the pain to go away so just be patient. I have been told by many woman that the sooner they became active after having the baby the sooner the pain went away. I haven't found the time to work exercise into my routine yet, but i imagine that it wouldn't hurt.
