This is my second C-section that I have had. I had another one a little over four months ago and everything seemed to be getting back to normal and the pain wasnt there anymore and the swelling in my stomach was gone. But yesterday the pain and swelling came back just as it did when I first got out of the hospital can anyone tell me if this is normal?

I had my C section 6/25 so it's been a few days past 4 months. I have some mild numbness right on the scar and occasionally get a pinching type pain in one end of the incision. Other than that I have been fine for about 2 months.

yes i did with my eldest 9 yrs ago and yes, sorry to tell u, it still hurt up to a year after she was born, i'm on the larger side though so i was getting infections all the time, give it another couple of months and it should be just an ache, also be prepared that the numbness never goes away, the entire lower part of my stomach is still almost completely numb 9 years later

Hey moms Im a mother of 4 now but last one i had a c section 4 months ago and I'm having lots of needles pain.. In the inside numbness and sometimes it feels.like rubber band braking in the inside. Been checking up with my Dr. And she said it normal to feel like this but yet I'm talking about the same Dr. Who said it would be find for me to go back to normal activities and light exercise at 2 months. I hate my Dr office and my obgyn is a mix up of 4 Drs. Please help I believe a women who been through this can tell me more than the Dr who never had a c section and said OK to exercise, which I didn't do because I'm still in pain!
I had an emergency c-section, Mak got stuck, and I was having pain really bad. It seemed like it healed fine and then all of a sudden I couldn't even pick up my baby. The doc gave me some antibiotics and said the incision may have been infected on the inside. He didn't seem too worried. After the antibiotics I feel fine. I, too, have the numbness and it is a little painful to the touch. My baby likes to kick me there and that surely doesn't help.

i had my second one four months ago and the scar doesn't hurt, but there is numbness. My boys are almost three years apart and the only time I could feel that area is when I was pregnant with my little one. I know someone who didn't feel it for 11 yrs don't think that feeling is suppose to come back. I was saying I don't have sharp pain on the scar, but if I have something as little as a gas bubble I feel completely bloated and have sharp pains and cramps. It's like the pain in intensified 100 x's =(

I had mine almost 5 months ago and I get the sharp pain usually when I get out a bed, while holding baby. It is still numb, pretty much numb since I had him. My Dr. said it can take up to 6 months, but I have a feeling it's longer.

I had a c-section in June of 09' and I still have numbness above my cut....from what I hear, it will ALWAYS be numb above the cut!! The incision killed your nerve endings there, that is what my doctor said when I had called about it.

My c-section was almost 4 months ago and I still get pain and still some numbness. It takes a while to recover from any surgery but think about it, you only get a little bit of rest and then you need to take care of baby. So you are not resting like some do after a major surgery. Your muscles, nerves etc are still stitching themselves back together it will take time. Check with your doc to make sure there is nothing wrong, (you can never be too careful imo) but you are not alone! My friend took 11 months to recover fully with no pain etc. Everyone is different.
