OK - so my 9 month old has a little longer until she hits the one year milestone, but I wanted to get some ideas early. What are you planning for your little one's first birthday party?

I don't know what I'm doing for my daughter first birthday yet, but my friend, whose daughter will be one in 2 months, is having a puppy theme. She's having the party at a local park & having everyone bring their puppy or dog. All of the decorations will be puppy themed, too.

Since my daughters birthday is in the summer time, I have thought of doing a Hawaiian theme. Dress her in a swimsuit and put her in a little grass skirt, with a lei and also buy lei's for all the guests.

I realize the party is mostly for adults at the first birthday.

I am going to make the cake for my son (I make of all his food, I like knowing exactly what he is ingesting.)

I have this picture of my husband from his first birthday and it is SO cute, he ripped into a chocolate cupcake with raspberry filling. It was all over his face, as to be expected at that age. I plan on making the same kind of cup cake for Jaxon. I will just have him in a diaper and put some towels or tarp under his high chair. I also plan on getting him one of those baby powerwheels and letting him drive around the backyard as it is HUGE. (He already has great balance, and walking.)

My son will be one june 22nd, and he has developed an incredible love of blues clues. When it comes on he freezes and wont take his eyes off the screen until the credits have finished. he dances along to the songs and giggles when blue makes noise. So we are doing a big blues clues birthday party with a professional cake.

my son will be 1 on june 26 and i am keeping it pretty simple this year. we have a pool so we will be swimming, and i am making little snacks and a cake/cupcakes. i'm not going with a "theme" this year because he's too young to have a favorite of anything--maybe next year. i'm just using bright colors. i made a birthday pendant, and i am making his invitations myself. just a fun get-together!

My daughter will be 1 on June 18th and we are planning a birtday party at home...inviting close friends and family. I am going to rent a bouncey house for the older kids that will be here. I am trying to rent a merry go round, but have had no luck in locating one. But the theme is going to be brown and pink polka dots like her bedroom. I am going to do a chocolate fountain w/ pink marshmellows and other pink food for dipping. I am not sure of the other food, trying to stick with a polka dot theme. Any ideas let me know.

My daughter turns one June 22, I've been planning her 1st birthday for months....I think I have too much time on my hands lol. Her party is snow white theme....my parents recently traveled to mexico where we have family and bought my daughter the snow white dress... this dress is 100 times better than the snow white Halloween costume I saved for her. I making snow white and 7 dwarfs centerpieces where we are gonna have candy apples placed on for each table. I also plan to make her ivitations in shape of a bitten apple(I plan to use card stock). We are Hispanic so 1st birthdays are a big deal!!

Thanks for the information - Katherine will be 1 on June 2nd as well and I am holding something for the close family and friends - since, as it was pointed out, Katherine won't remember it. I had a cute idea for invites - an abbycaddaby wand. Outside that I think the outside, backyard party is a cute idea. Thanks again!

I'm planning on doing a slide show of her first year. I did the same thing to my now toddler when she turned 1. For my infant, who will turn 1 June, 10th I'm thinking of doing a little party with a pinata, cake, and obviously food (nothing big) However, the fun part will be having all my family gather around the living room to see a slide show/movie that I'm working on of my daughter's first year. I've included pictures of my pregnancy, baby shower and I'll be adding pictures of her birth up to her 12th month. The background will have songs dedicated to my girl.
My plan is to give her the movie on a very special birthdate or when she moves out of the house... not quite sure yet.

We are having our daughter's naming day on her 1st birthday. Its only going to be a small intimate occassion as I dont think babies need to have a birthday party. We will have a sausage sizzle lunch for everyone and hoping it will be over within 2-3 hours.

My daughter's birthday will be June 2nd. We will probably be doing a backyard BBQ (fingers crossed for good weather). While this is a huge milestone and one that my husband and I want to share with our close friends and family, we realize that it's a party for us mostly as our daughter will not remember this special day. With this in mind we thought a party at home would be great. She'd have all her toys, her cousins will come over, we have a pretty big backyard... We enjoy entertaining at our house so it should be fun.

My daughter will be 1 June 15th. And my sister wants my baby to have a pool party for her first birthday! I took my daughter swimming earlier this month while we were on vacation and she loved it. So I think it will be fun to have a pool party for her!
