My 19 week old son gets really fussy in the evenings after eating rice cereal mixed with breast milk. An suggestions as to what might be causing this? Is his digestive system just not ready for solid foods yet?

Rice cereal can actually block them up so he mite be abit constipated or he mite have an allergey to it. I think food like apples or pears are a really good first food as if they are abit constipated the fruit will help that like is did with my son:)

Have you given him cereal in the morning? When I started giving my son cereal, I started it in the morning incase he had a reaction to it. It might be he is just not ready for cereal yet. Most docs recommend after the 6 mo mark as then your babies digestive system is ready handle solids. That might be the case here. I would first try giving it to him in the morning and see how it is.

He maybe alittle constipated. Try giving him some apple juice or prune juice once a day, and that may help him get out what he needs to
