I have not lost all the baby weight at all. after my first was born in 08' I lost all but about 25lbs to be healthy and fit but not exactly where I was, and had a lot of toning to do. This time I have only lost 10lbs so far, he was born 6-21-2011 so it's only been about 2 1/2 months but by 3 months with my first one I was almost there.

I don't have a scale in my home either, so that I rarely check but I do have a measuring tape used for sewing that I use, and according to those calculations I'm losing in the right spots and gaining in the right spots, which keeps me hopeful.

But for my workout regime I absolutely can't get up super early. But at my university the gym is free for students, so I try and use that between 40-90minutes evertime I go to school, which is twice a week. The reason I go is for the treadmill, I force myself to run. because before school started I would spend about 4-5 hours working out using netflix, and eating and cooking very healthy. 80% vegetables; not just salad.

good workouts I have found for me: pilates, yoga pilates, yoga (of course), belly dancing, and the New York City ballet workout DVD. Plus I use my conditioning skills I got from gymnastics and color guard (band).

But I am not happy with my amount lost, but I haven't given up hope. There are priorities, kids, school, work, my weight loss.

I lost all mine plus an extra 20lbs. I am not the type that loses weight easily. There is a book called Eat Right for your Type. It's about what kinds of foods are good for your blood type. I had a c-section, so I was slow to start working out again, but I lost all the weight just from changing how I was eating. Now that I can exercise again I am toning again. Good luck!

Good question! It's amazing how different we all are really. Just seeing the responses on here goes to show we are all so individual, some losing their baby weight straight away, other's still having a lot to lose months after the birth of bubs.

I think if you can focus more on the fact you've created life and have a beautiful baby to keep you busy rather than on how fast you can get back into those pre-pregnancy jeans, then you'll be a lot happier for it. Having said that I do believe a happy medium is required - eat healthily, allowing yourself treats so you don't go insane, try to exercise frequently and consistently but don't spend all your time slugging it out at the gym which in turn means you're away from your adorable bundle of joy. I admire the mother's who get out there and walk or jog with their babies in the pram or another great idea I read but havn't actually started yet is to buy one of those floaty tubes for bub to sit in (with a hood for sun safety) and walk laps at the local swimming pool.

I gained 19kg, my daughter is now just over 4 months old and I still have 3.5kg to go. I know that I will eventually get there, but I'm not pressuring myself too much and am happy to lose even half a kilo a week. Any more than 1kg a week is quite unhealthy anyway. Focus heaps on being a parent and remember the happy medium when it comes to the weight loss. Bub doesn't care how big or small we are. All they care about is the time, attention and love we can give them. : )

Hi Summer,

I gained 31 pounds with the delivery of my son. Majority of my weight was fluid retention. After the birth of my son, it took about 2.5 weeks for me to drop the weight. I am still nursing my son - but found that once I returned to work and then started taking the Progesterone only oral contraceptive that I have put on 13 pounds. Needless to say, I am not happy about the weight gain. I am hopeful I'll be able to lose the 13 pounds. LOL.

With my first child (now 3.5yrs old), I gained 50lbs and I breast fed up until almost 6 months (I had pumping issues and it was too stressful). It took 3 P.E. classes though a college to get rid of the weight. This time I was a little more careful (I ate a lot less Oreos, lol), and only gained 25lbs and lost it all by the time I went back to work (12weeks), but I'm certainly not the same size (i'm still one pant size too big for my pre-prego pants). ANYWAY.... The best way would most likely be exercise. Taking a class kind of forces you to make the commitment to exercise. The classes I took were Step Aerobics followed by Yoga twice a week. The next quarter I took a Lifetime fitness course where you had to commit to 25 hrs during the quarter to work out in the school fitness center while also taking some class time to learn about health.
Good luck on that last 10lbs, you can do it! :o)

I also gained a great deal of weight when I got pregnant. I have lost 30lbs now..and still have 20 to go! But it's starting to come off more. I have a fussy baby so it's hard to get the excercise I'm use to in but am slowly able to do so! I found everyone's stories encouraging! Thanks!!

I think it is definitely in the genes. I gained about 20lbs with both babies and lost it after 2 weeks with number one and three weeks with number two. Both babies were around the 6lbs 6ozs mark. My sister had her first in April and she put on 26 lbs but lost it after two weeks. Her little girl weighed nearly 9lbs. Neither of us has stretch marks. This bodes well for our little sister.

My stomach is still a little out of shape, but I am back in skinny jeans. I had to have a classical c-section so my scar runs vertically down my stomach and is twice as long as my first one which is a normal horizontal one. It is taking a lot longer to heal and I developed a hernia on the scar a couple on months back. This means I can't stretch or strain it, so no tummy crunches for me. I am waiting for surgery. Summer is coming, but I won't be putting on a bikini because of the scar anyway.

I had my first son in April 2008, then when he was five months old, i got pregnant with my second son. He was born in June. Now, I gained 75lbs with my first son, and dropped 50 after he was born. So i had 25 lbs extra when i got pregnant again, luckly i only gained another 15 lbs when i was pregnant, and coming on the end of my pregnancy I got very sick, and lost that 15 lbs. Then after Cameron was born, i now weigh less then i did before i got pregnant with my first son. Ask me how I did it?? I don't know.

Hi, I have a wooping 15lbs to go still. I did have a c-sec and had to wait of course for the OK to work out. But as soon as I got home two weeks after delivery I started walking (short walks) . When I was 6 wks pregnant I ran the Chicago Marathon (didn't realize I was pregnant). So I continued to run during my pregnancy still I gained about 50lbs. So I am currently getting back to running, I don't run for hours like I used to but I am getting back slowly. =)

IT did take us 9 months+ to gain the weight so its only fair that we don't rush our bodies to loose it over a few weeks. (these is my husband's encouraging words) =)

I've lost all of my pregnancy weight. I go running a few times a week and BF. But I think my secret was that I run a daycare and chase 3 toddlers around all the time. Not to mention on my time off from work, I still have my 2 year old to take care of.

I only gained 6lbs this time and when I got home from the hospital I had lose that and about 10lbs more. I'm now about 20lbs less than my pre-preg weight and only have about 50lbs more to lose (that is left over from my first who is 8 years old now). I also breastfeed but I have have not been able to lose any weight for almost a month now.

i have lost all of my weight, thank goodness! my son will be 16 weeks monday, and i actually weigh 5 pounds lighter then my pre-pregnancy weight. im not breast feeding, but i think it has something to do with family history, my sister dropped all of her baby weight plus some, and i did that same. neither of us got stretch marks either, so maybe weight has something to do with history as well! i guess i just got lucky, but some advice i could give is to eat small meals throughout the day opposed to 3-4 a day! good luck!!

I'm still losing weight from my first pregnancy in oct 2007. I weighted 100lbs when i got pregnant then I gained 65lbs(scary i know) after my 1st child i went down to 125 then I got pregnant again and I gained 45 lbs. I'm now back to 125 where i started to lose the weight. eat very healthy, exercise, try to stay away from sugar...its your enemy even though it acts like your friend!!!

I lost all of my weight right away but I only gained 9 pounds and had a 8 pound 7 ounce baby. I was really sick during my pregnancy. I am still breast feeding but I am sure to be in trouble when I stop because since I am no longer feeling sick, I am always hungry. Good luck losing! :)

yup i lost all of mine and then some, thanks to my wonderful brother ie my personal trainer. He makes me go for a walk/run every second day and i do home exercise from the magazine 'woman's health' every other day. That said i dont have my body shape back yet, still a little jiggly, not that fussed though it only been three months so i think we're doing pretty well :) As for dieting since you're not breast feeding anymore you can diet (lucky), but who could be bothered. i don't know about you but with a new baby i have to remind myself to eat a lot of the time lol. Just exercise, its fun and you'll probably need to get fit for when your little babe is running around ha ha.
