Maybe I'm behind, but I did not even know that I CAN give her Cheerios. This will be happening tomorrow then.....

my son is almost 9 months now. he loves cheerios and saltine crackers and he also will eat kix. he has two teeth on the bottom and he can chew everything very well. i think as long as they can eat something without gagging or getting sick they are ready for it.

Totally! He LOVES them! I am amazed at how quickly his little gums can get them into mush. :) Have fun with it.

YES!! My daughter LOVES them. However, (maybe because this is my first child) I would talk to your child's doctor before starting any new foods. That's what we've been doing and it seems like our daughter is growing and doing great!

oh mine eats them like it is nobodies buisness! Kams been eating them since he was 5 1/2-6 months in between there. its not gonna hurt them unless they have not mastered the concepts of finger foods- go ahead and but keep and eye on them. my son also doesnt have teeth so the scratchiness of them will help scratch the gums making it easier for the teeth to come through plus it gives them better practice on chewing when they finally do get teeth! so good luck

I have tried giving her a few cheerios. I like the Gerber Puffs better. They dissolve as soon as they get wet. She did fine eating the cheerios though, and only has two teeth. She gummed them until they got soft.

no cheerios for my 8.5 month old yet, but we do give her happy baby puffs. she LOVES them! she doesn't have any teeth yet, but she pseudo-chews with her gums and seems to get them down just fine. i think they dissolve pretty easily.

My daughter has had cheerios since she was 7 months, she has 5 teeth now and does very well, but every child is different!

I've given my 7 and a half month old cheerios!! But she has two teeth and is getting more. She started on solids a little earlier than usuall..... 5 months, when the recommended age is 6 months old, because she had teeth. I recommend the multigrain cheerios, as they have less sugar and breakdown easier. Babies "gum" everything, if you've given other foods like cheerios, don't hesitate to give them if you want to. He/She will love them:)

I started trying Cheerios around 7 - 7.5 months and he didn't seem ready for them. I recently decided to try puffs and he does a lot better with them since they sorta dissolve in his mouth.

I haven't actually given cheerios to my son, Eric who is nearly 8 months old but he has stollen some of his older sister's cheerios. Eric who has no teeth, crawled over to my daughters table, stood up, put two hands in the bowl, tipped most of the milk out and ate as many cheerios as he could before I turned arround and caught him.

She's had them a couple times now in the last week and seems to be doing pretty good with them. She's almost 9 months old now (the 10th). Up until the last week or so she was always gagging and choking on them when we'd give her a single one. Of couse she's not getting as many in her mouth as she tries to get in there yet but I'm sure that will come soon ;)

I've tried to give my 8mo old cheerios a couple of times and once she does find them to her mouth, she gags. I guess she's just not ready yet.

My little guy is 8 months today, and we have been doing cheerios and crackers for a little while now. Ritz are the best crackers because they disolve easily.

My daughter is 8 months old, I haven't given her Cheerios yet, but I have been giving her Puffs, Yogurt Melts, and Graduates lil' crunchies. And she has no problem eating any of them. I would probably give her cheerios but I never have any in the house.

i have not gave my son any hard foods except cheese puffs because his teeth arent quite through yet but if he can chew i would not see the problem. i would ask your ped. first to see for sure if he/she is ready. i hope i was a little helpful! :)
