I spent 22 hours in labor, ended up with a forceps delivery because my daughter was sunny side up with the cord around her neck with no pain relief that tore me from here to China. 3rd degree of my perineum and a tear to my cervix that required 45 minutes of stitches in which i endured without any pain control. Most painful experience of my life and I can't imagine every doing it again! I'm pregnant with twins and due in October and will be having a scheduled c-section, lol!

Oh wow. I think my next one will be like that. We were at the hospital for two hours with this first baby, one hour at home. I was nine cm when I got to the hospital. Weird thing was I was there only a couple of hours before having an NST and she hadn't dropped and was lying on her side. There was no indication that labour was coming. So it felt pretty fast and wild to me.

I went to work that morning just fine. Left work bout 130 with no contractions but had some discharge. The contractions started hard and fast bout 330. We left for the hospital bout 430. Got into labor n delivery n Duece was born 45 minutes later. Doctor was mad because I waited so long to head to hospital. No time for meds or anything and he was 9 lbs 13 ozs and I had him vaginally with no pain medication!!

mine was absolutely HORRIBLE!! I was 2 weeks overdue so i had a scheduled induction on june 26th at 7:30am i was dialated to 3 for about a month before they induced me, they broke my water at 8:30am i was having contractions every 1-2mins and they were regualar, the nurses forgot to up the dose on the pitocin when they were supposed to by 5pm i was 6cm dialated and at 6pm my doctor checked me and said that i hadnt progressed from 6cm (since 5pm) my son was doing perfectly fine he was already really low into my pelvis the nurse said she could feel his head when she checked me, the nurses forgot to up the dose on the pitocin again (they sucked) and at 7pm my doc decided he wanted to do a csection because i was "taking to long" and he was going on vacation the next day i didnt want a csection because this is my first baby but i was so drugged up that i couldnt even talk i kept passing out when they were having me sign papers. my son was born at 8:34pm june 26th the doctor pulled him back out of my pelvis (hurt horribly) which made his head look like a cone (its normal now though). My doctor forgot to put the internal stitches in because he was in a hurry to get out of the hospital, after i was released i ended up going back in because i was having severe pain above the incision (right below my belly button) the docs said i had a hematoma and gave me painkillers then they told me i had pneumonia so i wasnt aloud to see my son for 4 days then they told me they messed up and i never had pneumonia i was released from the hospital after a week. Had severe pains again so i went to a different hospital because i didnt want to go back to the one that was doing nothin but give me painkillers. At the new hospital the doctors scheduled me for a second surgery where they reopened my csection drained over a pint of built up blood (i got 2 blood transfusions at the 1st hospital because i lost so much blood during my csection) then stitched me back up the right way and i finally felt better i was released after another week and finally able to hold my son after 2 weeks of me being in the hospital. Only good thing about the 1st hospital was that my son was born perfectly healthy 7lbs5oz 21inches! Sorry my story was kinda long!

Quite frankly, mine sucked. Scheduled induction because baby was almost 9 pounds and doctor told me I hadn't made any progress on my own. I had to be at the hospital at 1 a.m. to get antibotics because I tested positive for some bacteria then pit was started at 7 a.m. Water was broke shortly after that, and immediately starting having contractions that I can't describe. Was like this for nearly 10 hours before they would let me have an epi....I was begging the nurses to turn off the Pit and at one point, my hubby lied to me and told me they did. My right leg shot out during the epi and it felt like someone was shocking me, but had instant relief after that. A few more hours went by and the doctor said I hadn't made any progress so it was decided for the safety of my child and myself to do a c section. Recovery from it was slow and I thought the pain would never end, but having my son made it all worth it.

Oh Wow, a lot of you had great laboring stories. Not me, mine just plain sucks.
I checked into the hospital at 3am, Pit was started at 4:30am, Dr. Checked me at 7:30. No dialation, I was still at 1/2 centi. Kept me on Pit til 12:30 and put in Cerdival at 1:30pm. Took the Cerdival out at 2:30am, still nothing, NO DIALATION, I was still at 1/2 centi. Put me back on Pit at 3:30am and Dr came back in to check me at 7:15am, I was at 1 1/2 and he stretched me enough to break my water. The contractions started getting pretty good around 9-9:30am. I waited until 10:30 am to ask for my EPI.
The aneth. came in, got everything started, (Hubby had to run an errund and my Mom was asked to leave the room), started putting the epi in and he hit a nerve, I jumped and ended up having a spinal(my whole lower half of my body went completely numb) but he had to get the epi in, it wouldn't go in, had to lay me on my side to get it in. Hubby came back and they were telling him what happend.
The nurse said now is the time to get some rest, I was checked and was still only at 3 cent. As I was resting, my hubby told my mom to go downstairs and get lunch and he sat beside me to take a nap also. I woke up and didn't hear my babys heart beat. I startled hubby and told him to go get the nurse NOW! The nurse was already on her way in. They lost the heartbeat, had to put a monitor hooked into his head, went down to low 70's and I was bleeding really bad. Dr. was called in and they wisped me off to the wonderful operating room at 12:13pm and he was born at 12:16pm.
At least now I know everything will be scheduled if there is a next time.

I must say i i had a pretty easy labor. I got induced at 5 o'clock in the morning. I had bad back labor so the very nice nurse gave me something to relax me till i got the epidural and it knocked me out. I couldn't even sit up to get the epidural, two nurses had to help me sit up. I slept from 12:00 in the afternoon till around 6ish in the evening. Around seven i was at 10. I had to push for 2 1/2 hours, it was hard cuz i was still very groggy. At 9:41 pm my lil man was born healthy!!! Can't complain, 13 hours of labor isn't that bad, i would do it again in a heartbeat!!! :D

To end in c section and 9 more days of me in the hospital in terrible back pain, 13 days of little girl in NICU for small left colon and blockage due to magnesium sulfate since I had pre eclampsia. I was checked again at 10am and was 5cm so the nurse called my husband who was home with my other two children. (We also lived an hour away from the hospital) at 11:30am started bleeding really bad so the doctor came back in Baby "A" had passed away and Baby "B" heart was in bad shape so he said they were doing a emergency C-section the girls (identical) were born at 12:24 and 12:26 and my husband walked in just as they were walking out with Hailey to take her to the Neo-Natal unit....it took my husband 2 hrs to get my boys dressed and find a babysitter (plus the hour drive) so he missed it all!

I went in to be induced at 6am, they started pitocin at 7:30am. I showed up already having contractions and dialated to a 3 and didn't know it! At some point I had to be given oxygen because the contractions were too strong and too close together and causing the baby to be in distress. I started pushing around 6:45pm and had him at 7:27pm.

I went in for an induction at 11:30 pm (was already having some contractions). Started Cervadil immediately, did three rounds of that through the night, started Pitocin at 7 am. Dr. broke my water sometime around then and put a monitor on the baby's head (worst pain of all since I wasn't dilated). Epidural at around 11. By 3 pm I was still only a fingertip dilated but 80% effaced. It became clear that no progress was going to happen, so I went in for a c-section rather than letting the baby go through more stress (her heart rate dropped momentarily a couple of times). She was born at 3:34 pm. Recovery was super easy the first 2 days, brutal on day 3 and by 6 weeks postpartum I was totally back to normal.

Well this one was more difficult than my first and alot more scary. My first son we got to the hosp at about 3am, and i had him at 7:46am and i only had to puch for like 10-15 mins.
with this one (my 2nd) i was induced at 38 weeks, b/c i was retaining alot of fluids and gaining alot of weight each week. I got induced at about 7am, the contractions were going very well, so they kept increasing the potcin and also broke my water, but when they increased the potcin and i got stronger contractions, which didn't really even bother me, his heart rate would keep dropping so they turned off the potcin and then my contractins would stop, so they slowly gave me more. But he wasn't dropping down like he should had. They they rushed me into an emergency c-section b/c of his heart rate. Turns out the cord was around he neck and it kept getting tight each time i had a contraction.....but in the end he was perfectly heathly....after a big scare.

I was in active labor for 5 days, and this is my 2nd daughter. I went to the hospital on a Thursday with contractions, was sent home. Went back Friday night after being placed on bed rest and spending the entire day at my OBGYN's office hooked up to monitors for contractions, with my contractions 2-3 min apart, and was sent home. Went back on Sunday, for contractions again, they were regular and 2-3min and after spending all day, was sent home AGAIN (it was the oncall). Monday, went BACK to the hospital and was told to finally walk and my Dr came and checked me that afternoon and finally admitted me, which I don't think the nurse wanted to do... I got my epideral at around 10-ish and needed more of the pain meds through my epideral after a while for pain. Dr was checking me and my water broke. I only pushed for a few minutes and then I had my daughter. She had a true knot in her cord, which happens in about 1% of pregnancies. Oh, and the reason they wouldn't let me go before that point was bc when she was born, it was at 36weeks and 6days, so technically preemie. She was perfectly healthy though. The nurse asked my Dr how ling I was in labor and she said 3 weeks, the nurse looked at her funny and she said no really 3 weeks. I had to be in her office 2x a week for 3weeks for NST...

I could stil feel the strongest contractions, and the midwife broke my water (full of meconium) and i pushed about an hour and my Justice was born at 2:7 p.m. on wednesday. I am definitely looking forward to expanding my family within the next few years!

I woke up feeling horrible back pain at 2:30 am on Saturday June 20th. The pain was constant so we couldn’t time contractions and eventually it got too much to bear so we headed to the hospital. I four centimeters dilated and my water had already broken. By 11am I was 9.5 cm dilated, but the baby wasn’t descending. I tried pushing, but she just wouldn't budge. I ended up being taken in for an emergency c-section and she was born at 2:33 pm on Saturday (a 7lb 0oz beautiful, healthy baby girl). Unfortunately, the recovery was worse than labor. The doctor nicked a vein during the surgery and I came extremely close to needing a transfusion. They kicked my husband out of the room and sent the baby to the nursery before knocking me out completely. So aside from a brief look I didn’t get to see my daughter until around 7pm after I had made it out of recovery. Then two days after I was discharged I had to be re-admitted because of an infection. I’m actually still recovering from the c-section 9 weeks later, but she was definitely worth it! As for doing it again…we’re not so sure about that just yet.

I had a quick and painful labour! I went into early labour on Thursday in the afternoon, easy contractions, no pain. They went throughout the night, kept me up all night, called the hospital Friday morning, went in at 10:30am, wanted no drugs, ended up getting pitocin and having my water broken, they gave me a demerol shot in the bum which did nothing but make me dizzy, then after 3 hours of ridiculous contractions (1 minute apart, no rest in between) I gave in and had an epidural. I went from 4cm dilated to 10 cm dilated within 1 hour (my doctor was flabbergasted!) and started pushing.
I pushed for an hour and a half, and was starting to feel sick from pushing so much, so when my OB asked if I wanted help with a vaccuum, I said "YES DAMN IT!!" ;)
Logan Alexander was born at 4:18pm on Friday June 26th. He weighed 8lbs 4oz, and was perfect and healthy and beautiful. My Prayers were answered!

I went to the hospital that evening around 7 and I was in labor for about 39 hours. It was a saturday when I went and he was born that Monday after 2 hours of pushing. However, I had a 4th degree tear which I tore to my rectum and had 24 stitches. The recovery was worse then the labor and delivery.

She still has not dropped, but my body was saying to push, needed more medication to epidural site by midnight. By 5 am I had maxed out meds in epidural and had to get a double of Staydall, dialated to 8. I spent 3 hours dialated at 9, almost 10 for 3 hours. Finally told to push and pushed for over 3 hours, her head was tilted. She arrived at 10:35 am. By this time, I was wore out and was ready for a C section. My husband and mother were great, helping me to relax so our little girl would turn and move down. It was worth it, but there won't be another one.
