My daughter is having trouble weaning her off breast to bottle feeding. She will take the bottle nipple. I think she just doesn't like the taste of formula. Any suggestions? Mom will be working more hours and we need to get her on that bottle.

Tell her to buy a pump.... Or she should switch formula. My daughter takes Enfamil Lipil Advance & breast milk and she doesn't have any problems at all. As did my other 3 children.

Hi my name is naomi, and i have a baby boy who is now just over 6 months old. When i breast feed him, i use to express also and got him use to the bottle. However with returning to work shortly i have placed him on formula, i asked my doctor, what i should do because formula is so much thicker then breast milk. He told me to place 20 mls more water then it has said on the back of the info bottle, to water it down so that it is not so thick. Have a talk to the doctor, and see what he says. Hopefully it works out for you all!!!

I know it's hard to pump enough milk to have a frozen or refrigerated supply (since the baby needs to eat, lol), but maybe she can try. I have heard from several mothers that once their babies got a taste for breastmilk, they would snub the formula. Of course, they'll take it if they're hungry enough, but no one wants it to get that far. If she does pump, maybe you or someone else can try feeding her for a while so she's not near her mother's breasts. The only times I've ever gotten Tyler to take a bottle is if my husband feeds him. I wish you and your daughter luck!

I had to go back to work after about at month and was able to pump. You can actually keep breastmilk refrigerated for 5-7 days and you can also freeze it. I am not producing enough milk for him now so I mix the breastmilk I do get with formula (half and half). You might try that for a while and see what happens. Good luck to you and your daughter!!

i've tried every bottle on the market but baby will only take a breastflow one. i got it free on there site. as laua said express milk 2 start. i only give breast milk 2 my baby but i know when it came 2 my 1st i gradually mixed more of the cows milk with his normal till he got the taste. i'm assuming the same would work when getting baby on2 formula.

You could be right as breast milk is sweeter than formular. Try using a breast pump you can keep the milk for 24 hours in a refridgerator this may get her accustomed to using the bottle properly then mix half and half with the formular. Also what type of bottle/teet is she using i have used tomee tippee closer to nature as its the most similar to the shape and feel of a breast (to them anyway).
