Wow what an amazing response Raven some fantastic ideas!!! I was going to suggest possibly joining weight watchers - it has taught me alot about the foods I actually eat as I have to write everything down and I can analyse what might have happened if I gain weight or don't lose weight (eg, stressful week, tired from working, etc, etc). Having to go to weekly meetings and weigh in really makes me accountable for the foods I choose which motivates me so much to eat the right things! It is fine if you are still breastfeeding (you get loads more points). I have reached my first goal of losing 5% of my body weight and gees it has made me sooooo determined to reach 10%!!!

Even something so simple as switching to sugar tablets instead of sugar in coffee enabled me to lose 1kg a week (I was having a total of about 70 tsp of sugar a week!!! and that was only 3 coffees a day).

Good luck, it is hard to find the motivation some days but if you set some achieveable goals you will get there slowly. Don't try to change everything at once - just a few little things at a time and once those become easy change a few more habits, etc!

ALSO, when I was trying to get off of the soda and this took AWHILE I would switch to diet, and instead of 2 liters I limited myself to 20 ozs then 12oz cans. I choose brown rice over white, wheat flour instead of enriched, DON'T starve yourself, force yourself to eat breakfast lunch and dinner, keeps you from eating to much at one meal, keeps your body constantly digesting, cuts down on snacks and over eating. The point behind freezing junk food such as candy bars is they will take LONGER to eat, and only go there if you just can't live without it. I suggest to people eat till your satisfied, not till your full. Know your enemy! Fruit shakes are sold off as healthy but many have more calories then bottles of soda. Salads are fantastic but salad dressing is what gets you. I refuse many diets that are out there because I refuse to eat boring nasty food. I have made trade offs and sacrifices I can live without, what is the point of DIETING then go back to your regular routine to gain it all back. You have to change your manor of eating that will be healthier that you can stick to. Don't punish yourself in vain. Eliminate what you can, trade off what you won't refuse to give up, and for the things trully bad for you.....that you LOVE do them in moderation. For example I LOVE MEATLOAF, especially next day meat loaf sandwiches, I replaced the meat with ground chicken and turkey mixed together, I use wheat thins or vegetable thins instead of saltines, I use egg beaters to eliminate the egg white. When I must have pasta I buy whole wheat noodles, cut down the portion size, eliminate the garlic bread, I now steam brocolli on the side to get all the sauce, and use light and sugar free sauces. GARLIC add garlic to anything you can to help detox your body. Drink a glass of water or crystal light before you eat any meal and top it off with another after your meal, remembering to eat till your satisfied not till your full. Make enough food for left overs, we fall into fast food and unhealthy food because cooking takes so long and being busy working and being mom and wife gets to you, heating up left overs takes down the cook and prep time. Left overs go bad in fridge to often, put them in tupperware and freeze them in small portions for your own home made frozen dinners.

I work at a desk all day, I go to school and my little guy is almost eight months. I don't get to get out much to work out. I was told when I got pregnant I needed to loose weight. I was nearly 350 lbs. at beginning of pregnancy with my little guy at 8 months I am down to 175. 1/2 my weight in 17 months. Things work different for every body but what I have done is:

1. Moderation

2. Splenda instead of sugar

3. Crystal light instead of soda (OMG THIS WAS HARD I typically ALWAYS had a soda in my hand, mountain dew, pepsi whatever, I was always thirsty, but the generic and regular crystal light is very tasty and only 5 calories in 2 qts.) I replace the caffeine with 500mg tablets of Vitamin B-12, b12 also helps your metabolism.

4. One cup of coffee a day.

5. Olive oil instead of any other.

6. RED MEAT only once a week.

7. Baked chicken instead of fried.

8. Resist the fast food, I think of it as food fast to your hips.

9. wraps instead of subs

10. buy smaller plates to eat from, literally we tend to fill the plate so if it is smaller it is easier to control portion size.

11. Eat atleast 4 hours before bed time

12. Buy yoplait and freeze it to replace ice cream

13. If you DO fall into the craving for cupcakes, twinkies, or chocolate bars, FREEZE THEM, still edible.....but less likely to eat more than one.

14. If you have fat free, light, diet, sugar free alternatives on foods you must have then get those.

15. Pasta only once a week (easy meals but the noodles are so bad. same with potatoes.)

16. SNACK often, but snack on fruit, apple chips, dehydrated fruits, carry these in your purse.

17. Pay attention to nurtitional labels.

18. Steam your veggies, leave off the butter. (boiling them makes them loose all the things that are good for you.

19. Maybe my change in diet helped alot, but I also drink xenadrine from time to time, I switch back and forth from slim quick to xendarine.

20. Once a month I use ACAI berry DETOX (colon cleanse) for about a week.

21. I carry my baby when I go place instead of a stroller, instead of leaving him in a swing I carry him while I am cooking (after I have the prep done and knives put away), I hold him to load the laundry, to check the mail, making his bottle etc.
