WOW! I'm impressed with all of you and your kiddos! My twin gals born June 09 don't have a lot to say, although I am talking all day long along with my 22 month old. Mayce has been saying dad da da da d da dad ad da for a month or so, but Zoe is just squealing ever so often... all babes are different.

Mikolai says Mama, Buba, Bye Bye and Kitty kitty (tithy tithy). He knows his name, and looks when called, but can't say it yet.

my 8 mth old say's mum, mummy, dad, daddy, gandad (grandad), bad dad (hahaha i taught him that one!) and broda (brother) shakes his head no and walks using furniture, he has been doing all this for about 1 to 2 mths now, i dont think he understands what he say's tho because its all things we say alot and he just chats random things all the time lol,

my litle boy is 7 months old and he is saying - dada , mum, ta and baba lol it is rather wierd when ya hear ya little one start saying words and sometimes you hear them say one thing thenthey dont say it again until they think your not listenin lol !

My son started saying something like A-Gee a few weeks ago. His name is Gabe, and we think he was saying I Gabe. He also says dada a lot, but I'm not sure it's in reference to anything in particular. Unfortunately as much as I go mmmm to try to get him to say mama, he just smiles back and says dada.

My 7 month old daughter says mama continuoisly. She walks around in her walking ring repeating it. And then when she feels like saying something else she either says dada or baba. She is very cleaver

It is possible that babies will copy the sounds they hear, its part of learning language. However, they normally only start using sounds as words in the right context after about 18months. However, all babies are different.

well perhaps it's my ears but my son's name is simple DJ and I could almost swear that I heard him say it twice today, but he also randomly says mama and da da. The other day when his dad came in the door he lit up like a christmas tree and said something like daddy, whether he did or not my hubby and I were just excited by his reaction. Enjoy - they will be telling us lots of this soon enough, lol

I'm not sure if you are hearing things or not, but Mm and Ba are very common first sounds. If her name was, for example, Jasmine or Dominique (lol) i would be saying get her on TV! My poor son is 7 months and i think he'd have identity crisis, or grow up thinking he is 6 different people as we all call him something different. Maybe you dont call her lots of pet names and she does recognise and can repeat her name... or maybe she gets such a good reaction when she says it she says it again! Either way, its still a good trick
