My son eats most everything we do. We have been having trouble getting him to eat meat though so I feed him stage 1 meats mixed with stage 2 vegetables. I still feed him stage 2 baby food mostly because I'm paranoid that he isn't getting enough when he eats "regular" food especially when it comes to meats. He loves fruits and vegetables either way. My problem right now is coming up with foods to feed him as I'd like to introduce him to a variety of things and get him away from that baby food completely. I was wondering if you all could share some ideas for menus as well as any dos or don'ts you may know about. For example, do any of your LOs eat french fries, fish sticks or pizza at 11 months? I'm not looking to feed him those types of food all of the time but my DH and I do eat them on occasion. We are a typical family on a tight budget and sometimes those "not-so-healthy" foods are on our menu. Thanks!!

My son will be one on the 17th and currently will eat any of the following:
Breakfast- Wheat toast, cereal bar, oatmeal, strawberries, bananas, cantelope, peaches, watermelon
Lunch-Cut up cheese, lunchmeat, avacados, black beans, baked beans, green beens. Sometimes I will make grilled cheese. He loves anything in a sandwhich so if he wont eat something I sneak it in that way.
Dinner-same as lunch, grilled chicken, ham, sweet potatoes, peas.
At snacks I also give him yogurt, puffs and gerber has veggie crunchies, motts applesauce (no sugar added). They have peach, blueberry and strawberry flavors.
Hope this helps!

as long as its soft and you can cut it up really small I feed it to my guy!! Pizza... sure, done it.. cut up really small.. he loved it. french fries..yup as long as its not super hard and I always give him a longer one so he can hold on to it! Fish sticks I take the crust off and cut small... but it sounds as though you are doing a great job already! Id say as long as you use common sense and give only soft bites that are cut really small so you know that even if they swallow whole its is safe... you can feed almost anything... even meat!

My Husband and I are the same way to not eating so well and tight budget but I found that Gerber makes Pasta Picksups in a variety of flavors... beef 'n tomato, turkey 'n carrots, spinach 'n cheese etc... I use those for nights that we don't eat very well. You could also try beans, eggs, and frozen veggies... my son loves these things too. Good luck!
