as long as your baby is getting something in her stomache she wont starve but maybe try a new formula

Sometimes babies hit plateaus in their growth, and won't eat as much, just like when they go through growth spurts they seem hungrier. It is normal, and your baby will let you know when she's hungry and when she's full! Don't become concerned unless it lasts a long time or if she starts losing weight.

Glad you posted this. My son is soon to be 4 months. At around 3 months he started taking 4 ounces at a time, not even all of it at times. He just started wearing size 1 diapers about 2 weeks ago. He was 5 pounds 10 ounces at birth, he just has been a slow eater. My brother's baby was born 6 weeks after my son and he already eatst more than mine, he's bigger than my baby too. I think they go through spurts of eating more and less and the same with sleep. My baby hasn't been eating a lot in the past couple of days, we've started him on like 2 to 3 ounces of cereal and that may be the reason. He gets that maybe twice a day. He also sleeps ALOT, someone told me it was because he was a preemie. Good luck, hope all is well.

I read that a baby is supposed to eat 2.5 oz multiplied by their body weight in a day. So if your baby is 10 lbs, they should eat 25 oz a day to maintain body weight. I would talk to your peditrician there may be something wrong.

omg! i just asked the same question but had no response.

mine has been doing the same for about a week now and im starting to get worried because she has been slow to gain weight right from day one and now this is going to cause some issues. she only just went onto 125mls per feed (every 3 hours) now shes having less than 60mls at every feed and doesnt even complain to eat!

i called my clinic sister today and i have to take her in on monday for a check up.

i hope we get answers.

could be something common maybe?
