My daughter is 5 months old. What is your 5 month old doing? She isnt rolling yet.. is this normal?

my little girl is 7 months and is still not rolling but she can sit by herself so dont get frusterated they do their own thing anyway

They are all different. My eldest didn't roll much, only crawled a bit, then walked at 9 months (and hasn't really stopped). My youngest is 6 months, he rolls and has been crawling since 4.5 months! And tbh it's a nightmare, I cannot turn my back for a minute. Don't wish it away.

my baby is 6 months old and was rolling over by 6 weeks even though she didnt realize what she was doing because she did do it out of anger but now she flip flops across the floor and she loves it sometimes i walk out of the room and come back and have to look for her usually she is under the coffee table playing with a toy but i wouldnt worry she will roll over soon i would just give her more floor time even if it isnt tummy time

my boy is just 6 months and is rolling but have yet to master sitting by himself or proped for that matter, he just flops forward on his belly, his older brother was walking alone by 8 months so i think they are all so different , not to worry

My daughter just turned 6 months old today. When she was about 4 months old maybe a little sooner she started rolling from back to belly, but now she doesn't roll over at all.

my 6 mo old is not rolling and she gets tummy time all the time but she can sit by herself so i know she will get there soon its all about being patience and waiting for them to do it even when you want them to

Haha my daughter did not roll until she was 8 months old!..two days later she started to crawl ...every baby is different and learn at different stages!

My daughter is 5 1/2 months old. She has been sitting without support since she was 4 months, she has a very strong hold on her body. But the rolling thing she does not do, i put her on her tummy, but after awhile, she gets sore or uncomfortable and then starts to moan followed by a cry. She always loved being on her tummy, but lately she like to stand more with my support than to lay down. Sitting or standing is her thing. I think that you shouldn't be bothered by it, as babies do things their way, aslong as they are comfortable, they are happy. And HAPPY babies = HAPPY mommies.Don't you all AGREE???



Any ways, just keep having fun with baby, and before you knowit, she/he might just surprise you. I too can't wait for that day,

Well my daughter started rolling onto her belly at about 4 months but she just barely figured out how to roll back to her back. Now that she knows how to she goes all over the front room. But I think your baby is fine. My doctor said that my daughter is a little adavanced for her age. Soon your baby is going to be walking and you'll be wondering why you were worried about her rolling over.

My son is 5 1/2 months and rolls from his back to his tummy but can't roll from his tummy to his back. He cries once he's on his tummy. I'm sure when he's ready, he'll do a 360.

i have the same problem i did happen to talk to my childs doctor about it and he said when hes ready he will do it there just not ready yet. he told me not to be worried every child is different

my twins started rooling at 5mths! some good activities to do with your baby:put baby on belly and put some of his favorite toys aroond him out of reach. And i like to put babies on the floor and take a toy and gently shake it from on side of the floor to other than when he starts reaching for the toy he will slowly roll to 1 side

I'm not in a hurry for my baby to move too much. I figure I will be running after her soon enough. She rolled from her belly to her back a couple of times, but that's it. She can sit unsupported for about 2 seconds. I've read that once they can really sit unsupported, they are strong enough to start rolling and maybe crawling and stuff.

My son is nearly 6 mos. old and only rolls from his back to his front. He did roll from his front to back a weeks ago, but I think he feels he can get farther on his tummy. I wouldn't worry...all babies develop differently. Keep up with tummy time. Try placing an object just out of her reach and she will eventually try to roll to it. Good luck and keep on "Mom"ing.

My daughter rolled at 11 weeks, which we thought it was completely insane and she's been rolling since then. She is pretty pretty strong though. However, I work with a girl whose daugher never rolled over or crawled. One day, she just got up and started walking so I think it's pretty normal. All babies develop differently.

My little girl started rollin over at 3 months but the first time was by mistake. she was sitting without support by 41/2 months but again she didnt mean to do that either but after that first time with both things she had no problem doing it again. She found her feet at about the same time she started sitting and after a week of playing with her feet her great grandma showed her how to put them in her mouth.

Every child is different!! I have two boys... my second is only 6 months and he is rolling front to back and almost sitting on his own... he can even move himself around on the floor almost ready to crawl... but with my first i dont think that he was that far at his age... i have a half sister that is also 6 months old and is not rolling over yet either. The two of them are 3 days apart but my son is doing alot more... its normal!! they will eventually catch up when they get a bit older. Everyone grows and does things at different times, when she is ready she will.

Thanks everyone,, she rolled over for the first time on the 3rd, and did one more time on the 4th, but thats it. she has sit up for a little bit though, still have to be very close becasue she is just getting she balance down, she uses her hands to help her sit up & she just got her first tooth in on the 7th. I just dont think she is too interested in rolling. she would rather walk like her big sister.... Thanks for everyone input :)

My baby hates to be on his stomach. He loves to stand and bounce on my lap. He's fine develpmentally in all other areas so I've been told not to worry. However, I do still worry. But if I leave him on his stomach too long he just cries and cries then it's hard to calm him down. When I see the pediatrician in a couple weeks, I'll ask him. For now, I won't worry though. I hope you don't either.

My Son is 5 and 1/2 months - he can roll from his front onto his back and is nearly there rolling from his back to his front! He can also sit for a few minutes at a time without support too. He is very tall and very strong for his age though and already weighs 21lb 7oz!!

My daughter just turned 6 months but has only rolled over in the last week and only twice, she is not doing it regularly just yet. My doctor said it can take some babies up to 8 months to figure it out and some babies just don't like to be on their tummies so they don't attempt it very often.

Every baby is different. My son rolled from belly to back at 2 months. Then at 4 months he finally went from back to belly. We do a lot of tummy time on the floor and he has a sister who is 2 and she likes to roll around on the floor with him.

my daughter is 5 months and shes not rolling either but she does hook her left foot onto the right 1 and tucks her knees up and pushes.i was toldsome babies dont roll over till they can crawl whether that is true or not but hopefully it helps Elisha

my daughter rolls, but not always right over. her arms aren't strong enuff for her to give that extra push. she has only rolled over completely on her own a few times. however, since we got her the jumperoo, she has been getting stronger and trying to roll more. actually, she's trying to skip a few steps and tries to sit up all the time by doing crunches. she grabs her pant legs and tries to pull herself up that way. she is almost 6 months old now.

My daughter did not roll over until 5.5 months I was told just to try to roll her over and she will get it, which she finally did, tring to get her to eat cereal just tried pears today she likes that a little better. I guess babies develop at their own speeds, She is 6 months old know.

My little one is 5 months and she is just barely starting to roll, I was worried it would never happen, patience is key they all develop at different paces, to motivate my girl I put her on belly time a lot and roll her over and over to let her see what to do, she loves it!

My daughter is 5 months and has been rolling since 4 months but my son didn't start rolling until 5 or 6 months I think. I wouldn't be too concerned as all babies are different.

My son is 22 weeks old and is not rolling over yet. Our pediatrition told my husband and I that this is normal and that he should be rolling over at about 6 months. He hates being on his tummy so I don't think that helps. He does roll onto his sides so I don't think it will be long!

My daughter is 5 months and has not rolling over yet. She spends lots of time on the floor but has not rolled over. But I am hoping that it will happen soon. She can get up on her side but goes right back down. I just keep telling myself she will do it when she is ready. So I have to be patient!!

My child has been rolling from side to side since about 3 months old, but only began to actually turn over onto his belly at 5 months. He is working on sitting up, but hasn't mastered that yet. Truthfully, every baby is different. Don't go by the books that say she should be doing this or that. Every baby has its own time table. The main thing we did was we were constantly working on the mat with him helping him roll over until he finally got it. Don't get discouraged; she'll do it when she is ready.

My little girl has just turned 5 months and she is already turning over, and even managaed to go all the way over and back again the other day, she also tries to sit up, but dont worry as they all do it at different ages, every child is different I should know I have 3. Lots of time on the floor is always a good idea to encouarge them to move esp tummy time, I placed my daughters fave toys close to her to encourage her to move to get them, she'll get there eventually and then you'll find u wished she wasn't rolling lol!!

MY SON IS 5 MONTHS AND ROLLS OVER WHEN HE FEELS LIKE IT WHICH ISNT OFTEN. MY FIRST BORN DID THE SAME THING, HE DIDNT ROLL OVER UNTIL PROBABLY 7 OR 8 MONTHS, ITS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT, IM SURE SHE IS EXCELLING IN ANOTHER STAGE INSTEAD. EVERY BABY DEVELOPS DIFFERENTLY.

My son is 5 months as well and has not rolled over yet. Though in the last few days he is getting closer to doing so. He is a little slower than his sister was but no worries when he feels like it he'll do it.

With my son we use to have a toy by him everytime we changed him and he use to try to move to get it and at a little over 4 months he was rolling over. If you also help her to thats what me and my boyfriend did was we would make him roll over then roll him back on his back and now he rolls back and forth and he's 5 months old.

my little girls is 5months 3weeks, and she has been rolling over since she was about 5 months but my little boy was rolling over by 4months so it all depends on the baby, everyone is different and just coz one does something at one age dont mean there is something wrong if you baby is not doing it yet so dont rush her she will do it when she is go and ready

My 5 month old doesn't wanted to know how to roll over :( She spents a lot of tummy time but she only move like a watch but not rolling :) She either doesn't like to b by her side even if I put a pillow, I don't know what else to do!!! I'll follow the adviced of letting her get mad when she's on her tummy, so she will get frustrated and just do it out of anger! I'll let you know!!!

Each child does everything at their own pace.. she will roll over when she feels she's ready I honestly don't think you have anything to worry about.

My 5 month old is rolling from his back to his side and belly, but can't get back over to his back. he is no where near sitting unsupported. When my daughter was this age she rolled both ways and sat fine alone. All babies are different and work through things at their own pace. My ped. said it is nothing to worry about. My daughter walked at 10 months - some friends kids didn't walk until 14 months or later.....

my baby is 5 months old today and she's managed to roll once from back to belly while grabbing a hanging toy. she hasn't done it since but she keeps trying to move forward on her belly and rolling to her sides... i'm told it's normal and that by 6 months she should roll from belly to back. my friend's daughter didn't do any of those things untill 7 months when at once she started rolling and sitting unsupported and even crawling ... each child has his/her own pace.
