My son is 3 and has been using the potty for about 2 months now during the day. However, at night, we still put a diaper on him and it is usually wet when he wakes up. How do I get him out of the diaper at night too? Someone told me that there is actually a chemical in their brain that has to be released before their bodies are ready for this.

Any suggestions?

I have 5 kids and 4 of them were trained without diapers at night by 2.5 years old. my 5th child is now 19 mths was just trained to go without diapers during the day time.
as for night time, i think on my part i had to put a little more effort, i used to wake up every 2 to 3 hours at night to bring them to the toilet during the initial stage. this is due to the fact that after analyzing their wee wee pattern during the daytime and after a few nights of trials, i had to wake up the first time after 2 hours and thereafter 4-5 hours later cos they take a cup of milk before going to bed.
This is done until they are ready to wake up themselves to go to the toilet.. Some of my kids took months to get their minds to control their bladder whilst some only a week or so.
Honestly speaking as parents training our kids is vital but no training is without hard work. But it pays with all the hard work and effort that parents put in.
