Never ate solid foods and still refuses!

My son is 7 months old now, and I started introducing him to solids a week before he was 6 months old. He refuses the food, turns his head, clasps his lips shut and crys if i try to give him anything! If i do manage to get some food in there he makes this horrible face like he smells something awful! I just don't know what to do to get him interested. Ive heard that if your baby is formula fed (which he is) than they are not used to the different tastes, but its been over a month and still no luck. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I would say definatley put some on his highchair tray and let him play with it. It is SUPER messy, but makes for good pictures, and he will enjoy feeling it. And you can try giving him a spoon, and when he goes to out it in his mouth, just stick your spoon in there. It works for my son. Good luck.

I started at 4 months, my son hated carrots and sweet potatoes and thats what I started with, then one day I tried peas and he LOVED them . He hated fruit so we mixed them into the veggies he liked and we got by. My son is also FF. He may not like certain ones, so try other, also try feeding it w/out the spoon, maybe with your hands he may take it that way, he may be just scared , but Im sure once he tried something he likes he will change his mind you could even try to let him feed himself by putting some on the tray, if he is like my son who puts ABSOLUTELY everything in his mouth that could work, also try different times of the day and wait til he is in a happy mood. When i started I always waited for the hunger cry and that was my first mistake bc by the time i got his food he was soo hungry he refused them b/c he couldnt understand it was food and only wanted his bottle
