I just took my 1yr to the Dr today and she said that it is fine. At one point they did not want to introduce it until 2 yrs because of the allergies but they are finding that waiting so long is what is causing the allergies. It's like if you don't have pets and you take them to someones house that has pets they will probably have allergies to the dander... because its something that was not introduced to them.

I would just be cautious with introducing any new foods.. just watch for reactions and know what you are giving them so if you do end up at the Dr's then you can explain to them what you have given.

My son had peanutbutter not too long ago too. There is no history of peanut allergies (or any kind of food allergy) in our family (either side) so we figured we'd give it a try. He did fine with it, and of course, loved it! It'll probably be the only time he'll have peanutbutter, at least for a while.

I heard any form of nuts or peanut butter for that matter is a great allergen for babies.. and should be given when they're older than 2 years old.. The pedia told me not to give him any yet...

they are not supposed to be eating peanut butter until they are 2, because of how severe peanut allergies can be. BUT if he didn't have a reaction then I'm sure he is fine! I would ask your Dr.. or/and look it up online! babycenter.com . . If you are concerned maybe hold off for a little bit :0) . . But mmmm peanut butter hehe!!
