My niece is in the Children's Hospital in Madera California right now. For what it looks like she has two fractures on her head, bleeding on the brain and also there is damage on her brain. Does anyone have any similar cases that can help me understand what's going to happen with her? My sister claims she dropped her when she fainted but we are not sure. She also had some seizures too. She hasnt had one for the last four days. Shes been in the hospital for a week and half now. If anyone has anything similar that happened to your loved one please let me knoe I have no idea if shes going to recover or if she will even get out of this one..

Oh man, I just want to cry, Roeshell, your sister probably suffered from post natal depression! I had it VERY lightly, but I can clearly remember how I just wanted to shake my firstborn until he stops crying. Thank GOD, that I didn't do it. Roeshell, don't blame yourself. Just pray for your niece. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD And, Saralixes, the same goes for you. Work as hard as possible with your child. HEr brain can develop new pathways and overcome many physical disabilities. And where there seems to be no hope left, or no more changes possible, trust in God. I really believe that He can make your child whole again. I will pray for her tonight. God bless you.

this happened to my niece when she was a baby by my sister. It was all over the news about 11yrs ago. My niece was in hospital for a very long time. nearly every bone in her little body was broken. she is now brain damaged, she had to be taught how to swallow and how to do everything that she could before this happened to her. 6 months after my sister did this she killed herself and I have really got anything to do with my niece because up until last year I blamed what my sister did on myself and now my niece lives in another state.
The best thing to do is find yourself a great doctor and paediatrician and you should see miracles happen even if they are so little.

What is the problem, I mean is she crying a lot or, is it developmental delays that bother you or what? Remember, she doesn't know she is disabled, to her this is just the life of a baby. Encourage her to face her battles as much as she can. She probably gets frustrated that she has partial paralysis but make sure you work with her anyway on it. It may be possible to get movement back or for her to find a way to compensate. I'm sure you feel badly that she has to go through this but keep that sentiment away from her because it will not help her. That is for you and your support people to know. Just try to stay positive and patient with her. If you feel your pediatrician is not helping you enough, find another until you feel more comfortable. Good luck.

That is just so horrible. I just looked at her photos and she is such a beautiful little thing. A lot of hair! I bet she is just a sweetheart. I am so sorry that she had to go through that and whatever else she had to go through and I'm sorry that you had to go through that as a mother. Besides death of a child, that's got to be the hardest thing in the world. Thankfully she is alive and smilin'. I know that must be what's getting you through this.

Thanks, she was only 3 week old when it happened. It was my exhusband. The shaking her part was actually the least of the worst out of the 3 things he did believe it or not. She had alot of problems with her like 3 hemmhorages, seizures, ect but now that shes 10 months the only thing wrong is partial paralization to the right side of the body like being able to be a righty when she is older. I wonder how other people get through times like this.

No, but not too long ago when my family was eating at Taco Bell, one of the workers there was talking to us about her niece I think who was hospitalized for a while because of it and from what they could tell looked like she would make a full recovery. Has your baby suffered this? I am so sorry to hear that. I would want to kill someone if they hurt my child. I hope your precious angel is doing okay and will suffer no lasting effects. :-( Many hugs to you...
