I am mom of a baby boy born on june 2, 2009. He has co-slept with us since day 1,( I know alot of people don't agree with this, and we have been trying to move him into his crib for the past few months, but it has proven to be close to imposssible.) Anyway, for the past 2 weeks or so, my son will be sleeping, and while he is still asleep he rolls over onto his tummy. If I let him do this, he actually gets up and starts crawling forward ( toward my pillow/the wall)! His eyes don't open at all, and his breathing sounds the same as a deep sleep..Has anyone heard or experienced this before? I actually sometimes have to hold him gently down until he relaxes again, and I do worry that he will one night crawl off the bed while Im asleep. Any advice?

My daughter does almost the same thing, she'll roll over crawl a little bit and plop back down and stay there. A few times I wake up and she's sleeping by my feet haha. I've put my bed against the wall and her crib (that she won't sleep in) against the other side to prevent her from falling off. If possible you could try putting just your mattress on the floor so that if he does fall off he won't be hurt (I've heard of quite a few co-sleeping moms doing this) or there are rails you can buy that slide in between your mattress and box spring.
Maybe our little ones will outgrow this, or maybe they will eventually be sleep walkers haha!
