Does anyone have advice on transitioning a baby from formula in a bottle to milk in a sippy cup. We have been trying for about a week and no luck. We have given her sippy cups a few times before but never constant and now she does not want to drink her milk from the sippy cup. Any advice.

My daughter won't take a sippy cup either, but I am not worrying yet. I try and introduce it off and on but she wants her bottle. I wouldn't worry

The health concern with too much milk is anaemia but you've got it wrong on the milk intake it's more like limit it to 16-24oz.

My daughter started drinking out of a sippy cup at 10.5 months. We went to the store and looked at all the different cups and bought a few different kinds. It was really just trial and error. After trying 4 cups, we finally found one that worked! Now we only use our bottle right before bed or at naptime. As for milk, we just started. We've been waiting till she was really close to a year. Our friend is a nurse and she told us we should only be giving our daughter 6 - 8oz of milk a day. If babies have more than can get sick. We mostly give our daughter water. Milk subsitutes formula at night.

I would fight one battle at a time milk then sippy or sippy then milk. Them being on the bottle isn't all bad so just keep trying but don't stress it will happen when they are ready!!

There are sippy cups that are spill proof. I use the Nuby. He has to bite it in order to get any of the liquid out. He has beed using it since about 6 months. I just moved him to milk from formula and tried to give it to him in the sippy, but he wants nothing to do with it. He will only drink water from the sippy. Weird!

Thanks, we have tried a few times and she just spills a lot of it and bats it off her high chair. Just wish it was easier. Still looking for suggestions though

hi im not gonna try yet ive been mine a sippy cup with water in sice they were 6 m and they still arnt the best at it they have a few sips the throw on the floor, im gonna give it a little longer

Personally I wouldn't stress about getting rid of the bottle. I'd cut back on bottles to only a couple a day and offer a drink in a sippy cup or straw cup the rest of the time. Just try different types of cups and help your child with the cup. They'll eventually catch on, just don't stress about it.
