my son walked at 10.5 months, which was expected because i walked at 9 months and my husband at 10 months. he had been standing since 7 months too. dont stress is your children are very different when they reach milestones. every child is different and each do things at their own pace. you might find that your second child is more advanced socially or mentally than your first child or vice versa. just continue to encourage and i am sure she will pick it up sooner rather than later. good luck xx

My first boy, who is almost 10 years old started walking at 9 months and my second boy who will be 1 year on June 6th started walking at 10 months old now he refuses to crawl, and 11 months is also climbing onto the couch which means no more even just answering the door without putting him on my hip or placing him in the playpen (which he HATES). I miss the days where he did nothing but lay there but am so proud of his accomplishments. Haha!

My firstborn started walking at 13 months and my second only 10 months now, is giving a few steps, but also not anything major. I believe not to compare. One day when they are the president nobody is going to ask when did he/she started walking.. Ha ha...

My oldest daughter didn't start walking until she was 11 months... I'm thinking Ella, who is 10 1/2 months, probably won't be walking until close to a year. She's just now starting to try to pull herself up on things. But it's okay... all babies mature, gorw and learn at different rates.

My son will walk around on furniture. Yesterday he kind of leaped from the couch to the coffee table but he hasn't taken any steps on his own yet. Right now he is working on just standing there without holding onto anything. He will be 11 months old on the 7th of this month. I'm not to worried about him not walking right now. He'll figure it out when he is ready. He loves to walk while I'm holding his fingers though.

My daughter is almost 11m and she is still pretty content to scooch herself around on her butt. She gets in a crawling position but doesn't actually crawl. She'll stand on her own but doesn't really creep to far. She does love to push herself around the house on her riding puppy toy!
I know I shouldn't rush things but it seems that she might be a little behind?

My son was 10 months old when he started walking. My daughter will be 11 months on the 7th and still will not. She will walk holding on to stuff and occasionally take a step or two, but nothing more than that right now.

I only have one, but he was taking steps, but not what I'd call "walking" around7-8 months, was really a walker to the day of his 9months, now 10 months and is starting to run! But he has an uncle who's 18months (different I know) who isn't walking yet. It's all on their own time, when they're ready, confident and when they just feel like it!

My daughter started walking around her 8th month (my son started when he was about 9 or 10 months) obviously each kid is different, but, my theory is that my daughter HAD to learn so she could get away from her big mean brother.

My son is 10 months also and hasn't taken his first steps yet. He's been hanging onto furniture and just last night starting letting go of things and standing all by himself! He really thought he was something :)

My daughter, who is our first was walking on her own at just 8 months old no problem. My son who is now just 10 months will walk if you hold his hand but has only taken a fewsteps on his own.

When my girlie was 8 months she started walking along the couch etc. She would do a few solo steps, but very shaky! By 9 months she was taking a few steps every other day. Now she is 10 months. She can stand up from a sitting position (not holding on to anything) She takes a few steps a day by herself, and not falling down after wards. Being able to keep her balance, and even clap and dance!! She just learned how to crawl up on a low couch we have, and a box spring/mattress on the floor! She does have a little musical walker, and I have seen her let go, and walk around to the front!! She scares me though! TROUBLE!

Sarah: Kids walk when they are ready. Sooner is not better than later, and later doesn't have to mean anything!! I am sure your two little ones do have a lot in common, as well as many differences when you compare them at the same age!

My first started walking 4 days before her birthday. My second has been taking the odd step for a few weeks now, and she was 10 months old on the 21st of April. She's not fully walking on her own, thank heavens, but probably will be soon.

My first, a girl, was a week shy of turning 14 months when she just decided to stand up and go all by herself. She had been walking around furniture for a few months before that. My son, now 10 months, with walk around when you hold his hand and will walk around furniture a bit but that is it. He has taken one or two by himself but no more than that.
