I had to buy all my sons clothes in 9 month sizes because he is almost growing out of his 6 month clothes already and he's only 4.5 months! What size are you having to buy?

My son is 5 1/2 months and he has been wearing 12 months for almost 2 months. He was almost 10 lbs when born and has always been on the big side. He is not fat or obese by any means he is just long and thick.

It totally depends on the brand and what kind of clothes for the size. Simen still wears a lot of his 3-6 mo pants, but has to wear 9 or 12 mo sleepers, onesies, outfits because of his height/length of his torso.

My daughter just turned 5 months and she's able to fit most 3-6 month clothing. Although the other day I dug out the brown outfit that I brought, which was 6-9 months, tried it on her and she had almost outgrown it. Baby clothes run different some too big and some too small so it really depends on the clothing. Also, boys tend to grow much faster than girls so that may be the reason also.

Virginia just turned 5 months yesterday and weighs 19lbs so she is solidly in Gap's 6-12mo. sizes but can wear some 12-18mo onesies without looking too silly as well. All her Ralph Lauren stuff is in 9mo sizes but is jussssst about to burst. RL cuts so slim- i find their long sleeve stuff hard to put on... Imps and Elfs (Amsterdam) is my fave kid brand in terms of fit, longevity and coziness.

I'm finding the same thing with my son. He was born June 9th of this year and just turned 5 months old, but I have already gotten rid of his 3-6 month stuff. All of my kids have been like that though. Not because they are fat or anything, I just find they are taller and longer than the size is.Don't worry, you are not alone!!!

my son is 4 1/2 months, and he is in 6/9 sleepers. His others are 6 months and some 3/6. I think it just depends on the brand. Some things shrink and most of his clothes are hammy downs. I have only bought a couple out fits for him new.

At four months I was buying size 0 (6months) clothing - he is now 5months and fitting well into them. Probably next month I will be getting the next size up!! As long as they are smiling, happy and healthy it doesn't matter what size they are - think about adults the same age differ drastically in sizes.

My son just turned 5 months yesterday, and he wears a full range of sizes. He is very long and skinny, and was 5 weeks early when he was born, so he is somwhat on the tiny side. (He is about 11.5 lbs and 24.5 inches long! Long and skinny!) Most of the clothes he is wearing are in the 3-6 month range. However, he has a few onesies that are 6-9 months that he can wear, a bunch of onesies that are 0-3 months that he wears, and even a few newborn outfits that still fit! I think this is pretty typical with infant clothes, though. They grow so fast, and so differently from one another. So it is not uncommon for an infant to fit a range of different sizes. In addition, as other posts have mentioned, the brand also makes a difference. I have found that Gerber and Carters are good fits for my son, as they tend to be longer rather than wider. But Gerber shrinks quite a bit, so that's a bummer.

Dont feel bad, my son is four months old and he is wearing most 6/9 month clothes. He was born 9.2 and is now 17.3. He is getting big fast but does not look unhealthy. I think it is normal!!! I mean, just look at how much he has gained since he was born. I think gaining 2 lbs or a lil more a month is def normal! Hope this helps!

My son is on the skinny side he will be 5 months on sunday and he is just now in 3-6 months, he has been in 3-6 month sleeper now moving up to 6-9 months because of length, he is 14lbs and 27 inches. As for the gerber onsies I hate them they are short no matter what, I like old navy onesies they are pricier but they are thicker and my son has a long torson and they fit him great.

I agree about the gerber clothes. The sleep and plays I have for my daughter seem to be short for their size. More expensive ones like at Macy's are definitely longer. She wears a size 6 or 6-9 sleepers. But if it's a two piece she can still pull off wearing 3-6 in some cases.
