Ok, I know all of us have little ones with birthdays coming up. I'm drawing a blank on birthday ideas. What does everyone else have planned?

You can make a special day for your kid by giving her undivided attention. Host a party for her and invite only her close friends and family members as she would be shy of strangers. Arrange party at home after their nap time and party would be brief like 1hour. Otherwise long time make thembore and they will start crying.

We're also having a small get together with friends. We're going to just do a little grilling out in our backyard (hamburgers & hot dogs). We're going to have some lawn games for people to play (bocce ball, ladder golf & bean bag toss). Then we just plan for people to eat, play, chat, etc. We'll have lawn chairs and blankets out for everyone to just hang out.

We're renting a cabin at a local camping area. Having people to the cabin to swim for a bit, then doing hotdogs on the campfire and maybe hamburgers on a grill. We're kind of going all out. I know she won't remember it, but its important to me :)

We are doing a BBQ with family and the theme is Baby Safari. I went to party city and got the decor for it and making a Lion cake. I think doing a theme is fun even if they wont remember it I will and that's what being a moms about, the memories. Dont stress to much make it fun and enjoyable.

Sounds similar. We have a little park down the street from our house that is equip with grills, picnic tables, and of course a playground! We decorate the tables with those Dollar Store plastic rolls and balloons and have a BBQ. Family and friends enjoy...provided it's not too hot! :)

We are also have a bbq. I am doing an jungle animal theme mainly because I have baby shower invites left over. My son also loves stuffed animal. We are having a snowcone machine, cotton candy machine, and a moonwalk. We will be doing sliders and possibly mini dogs. I don't know what I'm going to do as far as cake and ice cream, my little man has a dairy allergy.

The theme for my boy and girl twins birthday party will be Sesame Street and Elmo. They both love Elmo and get very excited with dolls, images, videos with music and almost everything that has to do with Elmo and Big Bird. It will be a small party but I will make sure to include all sorts of things that I know my babies will enjoy such as cake, ice cream, balloons, lollipops, music, bubbles and colorful decorations they can play with.

Thanks everyone! Sounds good, I was planning on doing a BBQ(both me & my fiance have large families, as well as many friends wanting to attended to support lil man's 1st birthday), I just wasn't sure if I should have anything else planned. So simple outside games for everyone to play and plenty of food will make people happy. Plus a little cake for the happy birthday boy to destroy :)

We are having a BBQ at our house too with immediate family and close friends. The theme is airplanes strictly b/c when I saw the party supplies I had the idea to do a boarding pass invite, which I must say I'm pretty proud of being the non creative person I am. It also had disposable placemats that I am going to laminate to send home with the goody bags b/c I really don't like bringing useless stuff home from parties and I think the placemat is great to reuse.

We are doing family and friends. We chose a baseball "Lil' Sluggers First Birthday" Theme. Since my fiance is a huge Texas Rangers fan, I'm going to mix in Texas Rangers decorations (since the Lil' Slugger decorations are Red, White and Blue). We will have burgers and hot dogs...and beer for the adults. I figure my son's first birthday is more for the adults anyways...he won't rmember it and it's our chance to decorate the way we want (before he can tell us what HE wants).

I find first birthdays are about the family and friends and I will be taking many pics throughout the party because I loved seeing pics of my first birthday growing up, even if I didn't remember it. To me it's a big deal and want to celebrate it. Also, many of my friends have older kidlets so I want it to be fun for them too!

I'm having a garden gnome theme party taking place outside in the nice warm weather! The food I'm preparing are all fresh veggies/fruits, with toadstool looking cupcakes. I'm making felt gnome hats for all the guests, along with gnome-themed games like making their own gnome-food (trail mix), build your gnome dome craft, glue a marshmallow beard on the gnome..etc. I'm quite excited about it!

keeping it simple, immediate family, barbeque, nothing extravaguant. theres no point, they are too young to really enjoy it, and sure as hell wont remember it. first birthday parties are more for the family than anyone.

Having a barbecue at home with our closest family and friends (which is still a large number!) its all about your wee one, and they won't remember it anyway so I think its best to wait for their 2nd birthday for parties at fancy places or out and about etc..
