Bottle to Sippy Cup

Is you bubba crawling. If so leave the sippy cup lying around with water in it. Guarantee they will play with it when it's laying around. This might help get him/her use to it. My 10month old is always picking up my 2.5yr old's water & drinking from it. The flow would be completely different, but at least I know she's up for the different sipper & I can skip buying the ones inbetween altogether. There may be a few brands that do, but I know the Avent sippy cups come with handles & you can use the bottle teet in them, then transition to the next level sippers with the one bottle/cup. This might be an option too. I think leaving it lying around may help, bubba's are always putting things in their mouth that are left lying around - especially if they're not suppose to lol.

Have you tried putting his milk in the sippy cup? What kind of sippy cup are you using? That makes a big difference as well.

ok i had the same problem with my son. but one day i just gave him the sippy cup and made him hold it and he fought for a little bit but then started doing it on his owns. i put the formula right in his sippy cup and he loves it. i also got the training cups, the one with the handles and kinda soft nipple like the bottles, but after 2 days of using those he drinks out of whatever cup now. he only has a bottle at night time. and this just started the other day. i just gave him the sippy cup all day and he did fine. every baby is different, all i can say is put the good stuff in his cup and just water in the bottle and maybe he will realize that the sippy has the better stuff. also just keep offering it to him. keep giving it to him when he is eating breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner and even place it on the floor infront of him when he is playing to let him know that its a drinking up or whatever. maybe even show him that u drink out of it. there is many ways to try to get him use to it. juss keep trying. he will get it soon. it tooks us a couple months to even get him to put the cup to his mouth.

My son started using a sippy cup at 4mons old but at about 7mons old I got the sippy cup with a straw and he loves it, he now won't use the regular sippy cup. If anything has a straw he'll try and drink it now. About 2 weeks ago I started putting his formula in the one with a straw, as long as he's not tired or fussy, he'll drink his formula like that.

My son is almost 11 months old also and he actually stopped taking the bottle and would not drink out of a cup. We finally found a cup that he drank out of a little and now drinks really well. It was a nubby cup that has a top very similar to a bottle nipple texture. Try different cups and eventully he will get it. Good luck!

Pigeon Mag Mag Cup is the only one that worked for us. The cup comes with a variety of attachments including a bottle sprout, soft sprout and a straw. I bought all these attachments as part of their 'All In One Set'. Most of my friends (10+) try this cup after their children won't drink from the other sippy cups and many have success. Just transition your baby through all the sprouts when he is ready. We also allow our son to drink out of a normal cup ever since he was 8 months old. Now at almost 11 months, he drinks quite well from it... so it all comes down to practice! Hope this helps... just keep trying.

i think i tried 20 different cups with my son, i think its just a matter of finding one they like and can use, some of the sippy cups around are ridiculous! i tried giving my son formula in his cup so it encourages him to suck from it coz he knows hes getting something yummy from it so its not just boring water that he doesnt want. my son likes avent magic cup and discovera try getting on that has a soft spout

Just keep offering it. Maybe even just offer water so you are not wasting and juice or formula/breastmilk if it sits around. My almost 11 mos old just started using regular sippy cups (witht he hard nipple/lid) this past weekend . I have been offering a sippy since he was 8 mos old and he was not interested. At 9 mos I started offering the one with the soft nipple by Learning Curve and he started with that. I recently tried a regular cup with the hard top and he had no problems. It will just take time to get used to it. Be patient. The more you offer it , the more likely he will learn to drink from it.

This may sound harsh but....just take it, he can't stay thirsty/hungry forever . I promise you its just his preference vs his ability. He prefers what he prefers. He will get over it an 2-3 days. Hope it helps.

Totally try the straw cup. At first he may spit half of it back, but after a few tries, he will get it.

My boys just like to play with their sippy cups, so I give them sips of water from a real cup. They do surprisingly well, as long as the cup has no handles that they can grab.

Try a cup witha straw. My son is 11 months and we introduced the sippy at like 8 months so that he would be read for it.. He can drink out of it, but deoesn't care much for it. I let him try a straw yesterday and now he has mastered it and loves it.

I'm having the same problem. She'll drink out of the sippy cups with rubber nips(like her bottles) but not the hard plastic ones. I use 'transitional' nipples on her bottles, you could try those.
