Crawling??

I wouldn't worry. :) Lachlan didn't crawl till 9 months. He just all of a sudden went from sliding along the floor to crawling one day. Sometimes they just do it in their own time.

my 9 month just scoots himself everywhere and my friend's 8month rolls everywhere. they don't have to crawl until 12 months. and lots of kids walk before they crawl so she's not "too young" for that. you just have to go back and teach her how to crawl bc there is research showing that it can cause them to be dislexic and have ADD and ADHD if they don't learn how to crawl by certain age. this is bc of the coordination strip of brain. crawling hard wires the left brain to control right body and so on.

my son never crawled until he was about a week off 9 months. now he is full speed ahead, on the other hand a friends baby was full on running at 8 months, they are all so different but i understand your frustration, it was hard at playgroup watching the other kids crawl around and my poor boy got left behind coz he couldnt chase after them, he runs rings around them now!

mu oldest boy didnt crawl till bout 9 months and wasnt walking till almost his first birthday but my 8 1/2 month old was crawling before four months old and has now starting standing on his own and walks along furniture but hasnt quite yet taken his first steps but all kids are different

Mary... my daughter is almost 9 months, and does the same thing your daughter is doing... also, just so you know, she is not to young to start walking... my mother in law started walking at 5 months... she will walk when she feels like she is ready... but dont worry your baby is not the only one....

mine bottom shuffles and is trying to force his self up but he doesnt crawl and hates being on his front he is also 8 mths and also my 2nd my first was walking by a year old but he will do it when he is ready i guess.

my son is also eight months and he is rolling like crazy he will get his bottom up and push forwards but will not get up on his arms and legs at the same time. It is one or the other. He is so good at rolling that his intrest to crawl is not there because he can move so fast with rolling.

my son started crawling at about 6mos, but he first was crawling backward for about a month, so im sure shes about to start, my friends baby is almost 9mos and sheis just laying on her stomach wiggling like she wants to crawl but just hasnt yet, but i think thats due to her not getting enough tummy time when she was young and still doesnt get that much, anyways my son has had atleast 20min of tummy time since the day he was born practically and thats what the doc says the earlyer u want them to crawl walk etc the ealyer u have to put them on there belly so they can develop theyre muscles, do u put her down plenty on her belly to prectice? anyways enjoy the not running around after a baby while u still can bc wants they start they dont stop, im sure she'll start anyday now though

Mine's 9 months and doing no crawling whatsoever. She flops all around, but no real traveling. Doc says it's normal with 1. All the attention she gets (first born kid, first grandkid on both sides) and 2. All the required back sleeping. Something like 80% of babies these days never crawl, just go straight to pulling up and walking.

My daughter starte crawling two weeks ago... now is a full on expert crawler ... don't rush your baby all kids do it at their own pace ....

my daughter is the same way. i didnt want to compare her to other kids her age who are crawling but i just couldnt help it.I realize she is going to crawl when she is ready its going to happen when it happens

my second kid did the same. he was walking by 9 months. he was only crawling for like a month. My 9month old is crawling but would much rather cruise around on to stuff.

Amanda; That's interesting because Sky is our second born to. My doctor said some babies just don't crawl they go right to walking. We will see. Good luck with your son!!

I was just about to ask a similar question. My 8 1/2 month old son is the 2nd born. He can sit but wont. He just reaches for something and falls or leans back. He WILL NOT crawl either. He lays on his belly and holds legs up so no signs of getting on knees. He either screams til I pick him up or rolls over. Toys around him dont help. He seems like the child who would want independence and freedom to move where and when he wants but is either stubborn, lazy or enjoys being dependent. HELP ME PLS!

My daughter has been crawling since 6 months old and yesterday mastered climbing the stairs. She's also able to pull herself up to a standing position am can walk if you hold her hands. Every baby is different.

my wee girl has been crawling for about a month, she started off by draging her legs ( she moved like a seal) pull her self forward with her hands, then out of the blue she started on hands a knee, she has now just started to pull herself up against the couch and showing intrest in walking.

My son has been mobile for over a month now (hes 8months oin 29th) but has just started for the last 2days to actually crawl on hands and knees... love it but growing up way to fast. Hes also pulling up to standing and walking holding on to you so yeah : ( i want my baby back

My baby is the same way. She crawls backwards everywhere. She loves to stand though, but I have to put her in the standing position. She's trying to pull her self up, but not quite strong enough yet.

My son is also 8 1/2 months and is not crawling yet but seems very close to it. He loves to get on his belly and at first just rolled around everywhere but now he's seems to be lifting himself on his arms higher. I try to push up his heels to encourage the crawling and it seems he's getting closer to it. But even if he doesn't crawl and goes straight to walking, I'm fine with that. My nephew didn't crawl and just started walking so every baby is different. Honestly, I'm in no rush for him to start crawling because once he does, I know he's going to be too quick for me to catch!

my son is eight months and hasnt shown any sign of crawling untill four days ago, he has been able to stand up on furniture by himself since for some time now and for about a month he can walk around with me holding his hands (he has always been a strong boy and stand on his legs since born), i have been told that alot of babys miss out on one important milestone "CRAWLING" which is sad but they seem to get up and walk out of the blue which is exciting!!! Blade is crawling backwards and now trying to get into the sitting position and standing on his head trying to rolly poll around the floor and that has all come about in four days i honestly thought he wasnt going to crawl as he is keen to get up and walk it amazes me how clever they are and how quick they work it out they all work it out when there ready and capable(with assistance from us mums of course!!!!) i think pushing them into it when not ready might steer them away from just doing it on there own i hope i was some help :)
