Do you feed your baby formula?

My lil darling man is 17months and still breast-feeds several times a day World Health Organisation recommends BF till 2yrs or beyond so I don't see how formula is any different!

my child is 17 maths old and has a mixture of normal milk, juice and normal finger foods. I would suggest maybe trying to wean ur child maybe normal milk through day formula at night. I do not think u r a bad mum at all ur just trying to do the best by ur child on medical advice. Remember all parents and children r different. Wow, glad you decided to dump your so called "friend". She sounds pretty immature and ignorant. But back to the topic...my son is 17 months and I am still breastfeeding him. But if I wasn't still BF I would probably have him on toddler formula as well as milk, since he has feeding delays. Go with your mommy gut and with what the docs say, and ignore everybody else. I have gotten grief from my family for choosing to breastfeed my son up to and past the age of 1, so people just like to put down others. Ignore them and do what is best for your son! HTH. :)

You are doing what's best for your little one don't let anyone tell you different!! My little guy is almost 17 months and he is on milk during the day but still wakes at night (sometimes) so I give him toddler formula, and he is doing just fine!! Keep up the great work mom your doing a great job!!! :-)

I started my daughter on a formula, water, and whole milk mixture and slowly reduced the water and formula so by the time she was 10 months she was on whole milk completely. Whatever you choose for your child is your choice and no one should say you are a bad parent.

I personally wanted to get my son off all forms of formula (he was 10 months when we stopped giving it to him,) but the thing is he DOES drink milk whereas your child doesn't. You are following YOUR instincts and the advice of your pediatrician, and doing what you think is best for your child. I see nothing wrong with that at all. I personally dislike formula (we started with breastfeeding) and I always think that breastmilk is better than anything you can give you baby. However, i had to use formula for my kiddo when he was 6 month because breastmilk just didn't suit him anymore so I had to adapt. You are adapting to your child's needs and doing the best you can to fit that bill. I say for that reason you are a perfectly fine mother. No one is worth the time if they are going to criticize you for your methods. every parent and child is different, and it's up to YOU what you decide to do for your family. No one else matters =]

There are more nutrients in formula and if your son is a picky eater it's probably better he is on formula atleast you know he's still getting the nutrients he needs. I was supplementing with formula but my son prefers milk and has gone off formula. You don't need friends like that. I'm sure most people would just have a laugh at that any way, what a joke.

There is nothing wrong with giving your baby toddler formula. It is called "toddler" formula for a reason. I think the important thing to remember here is that you are doing what you think is best for your child. Mine drinks milk just fine but if she didn't I would do the same.
