i jsut got my cycle, and i was wondering how soon everyone started using tampons again...my cycle is pretty heavy so i need something really absorbent. it has been 5 and a half weeks since i had my c-section so i think it would be ok i am just concerned about things like infection. do you think it is ok for me to use tampons now?

I just had my check up at 5 weeks and since I still have a little spotting my doctor okayed me to use my Diva Cup so I can go swimming. Myself I wouldn't want to use a tampon though.

i started my cycle right on my 6 week mark and began using tampons. i wasnt able to use the ones that i normally had used before i had my pregnancy because they felt a little strange. i would say you are ok to use them at 5 1/2 weeks. it might be a little uncomfortable at first, your body has to get used to them again.

I tried to use them at 6 weeks and found it very uncomfortable. I had to wait a bit longer.

I just had my 2 week follow incision check and I asked my doctor this very question. He told me to wait until 6 weeks before resuming the use of tampons.

i agree... i used to work in an ob/gyn office and they generally say not to insert until 6 weeks. def. call the dr. just to make sure.

You should be ok at 5 1/2 weeks, I would call your Dr just to make sure. I also had a c section and was told by my Dr that nothing can be inserted for at least 6 weeks.
