Democrats main goal is to abort babies

Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant (R), in defending his decision to sign a bill that could shut down Mississippi's only abortion clinic, told conservative radio host Tony Perkins on Tuesday that Democrats' "one mission in life is to abortion children."

"Even if you believe in abortion, the hypocrisy of the left that now tried to kill this bill, that says that I should have never signed it, the true hypocrisy is that their one mission in life is to abort children, is to kill children in the womb," he said. "It doesn't really matter, they don't care if the mother's life is in jeopardy, that if something goes wrong that a doctor can't admit them to a local hospital, that he's not even board certified."

"We passed that bill and I think you'll see other states follow, and when that happens, at least these fly-in abortionists are going to be regulated under the state laws of the Medical Procedures Act here in the state of Mississippi as they should be across the nation," he said.

The bill in question, HB 1390, requires that all physicians who perform abortions in Mississippi have admitting privileges at the local hospital and be board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.

While all of the physicians at the one clinic in the state are currently board certified OB-GYNs, only one of them has admitting privileges at a local hospital. The other two physicians can't get privileges because they live out of state, and the owner of the clinic has said it can't operate with only one doctor on staff.

Following Bryant's comments on the bill, Perkins took a dig at the Democrats who opposed it.

"Well, the driving factor is profit for many of them," he said.

While I'm sure the Republican's concern for my health and safety is sincere (or not), it is certainly not their motivation behind these actions. It is strictly political. They know that and I (we) know that. It is an incredible insult to our intelligence for them to assume we're gullable enough to think otherwise. Not too mention, that for the large majority, we don't vote only democrat or only republican based on one issue. (I think Karla B. said this already but much more elequently) He's so worried about "fly in abortionists" doing harm to women, what does he think is going to happen if women are forced back into the alleys and abandon buildings for an abortion again because he shut down the last place they had to go, where oddly enough, there were board certified OB/GYN's on staff? I would say that is hypocritical.

LOL! Politicians will say anything to get their way, and to make themselves look good to the voters. I agree with Karla, politicizing abortion is distracting us from the real problems in this country, and from getting anything acomplished.

i agree it just goes towards the agenda of closing that abortion clinic. When the party has an agenda i find they will say anything to get it accomplished. I am sure that they know their are other issues that need to be addressed but like a dog with a bone they can't let it go..

Even though I understand the Governor's premise that they want Doctors who perform abortions to be Certified and have admitting rights, it sounds as though this was pointless since the clinic in question had Certified Doctors and at least one who had admitting privileged. Because of that fact I have to assume that the writers of the bill are really just trying to close down the only abortion clinic in Mississippi.

I am put off by Bryant's stereotype of the left's one mission being to "kill children in the womb." I think that's part of the rhetoric of the times. I would also condemn those who say those on the right will only vote conservative on the "pro-life" issue, except for the fact that I have met people like that; on the other hand I have never met anyone who votes liberal solely on the pro-choice issue.

I find this politicizing of abortion rights to be very frustrating and beside the point of what our country needs at this time.

.... So all Republicans are WASPs, and all members of the Green party are members of PETA and ELF, all Independents are idiots who just don't want to commit to a side?

Infinitives, how we make ourselves look like idiots.

I get the want for a paper trail... I'm just not sure if this is the right way to go about it.
