Well, the good thing about Palin would be she'd only be in office for two years before she quit.. Then again, a lot of damage can be done in two years.

For the Democrat side we have Obama.
I voted for him but i'm not really happy with him right now. He didn't close Guantanamo bay which is a huge human rights issue.
He not only didn't let the bush tax cuts for the uber rich expire, he appointed the head of GE as the head of the economic advisory panel. GE didn't pay ANY taxes on their billion dollar profits last year. That would have gone along way to helping with the economy Not only that, but GE reported record profits while laying off workers, keeping their pay the same and cancelling medical benefits. This is not who i want to establish jobs here in the states. Especially since only 1/3 of their profits comes from the states, the rest of it comes from India and China.
Obama has pulled back on Iraq and is getting us out of Afghanistan, but has entered us into two other wars we can't afford, Yemen and Libya.
I know he was handed a hot mess when he took office, but then he appointed the same people who got us there in the first place, Geithner.
He keeps thinking if he placates the republicans they will work with him, but they use that against him, get him to take the first step, and then they take a step backwards, so he's never going to get them on the same page.

The GOP candidates at this point are:
Michelle Bachman, a representative from Minnesota. She is rather far to the right, and in my opinion is determined to shove her Christian beliefs down everyone's throat. She's also not the sharpest spork in the drawer.

Herman Cain, the owner of Godfather's pizza chains. Who has the idea that if we just make bills only 3 pages long, then everyone would read them over dinner and be able to vote on the merit of the bill. I'm leery of him.

Newt Gingrich, Who has apparently done something so bad that his whole campaign staff just up and quit.. all of them, en masse. He is a former speaker of the house and a lifelong politician.. to me, he's your standard creepy old white guy.

Jon Huntsman, former gov of Utah and current ambassador to China.. need i say more?

Gary Johnson, Former gov of New Mexico.. The former Libertarian Republican Governor does not attend church, is pro-choice, pro-free trade, pro-immigration, an outspoken critic of the war on drugs and a strong proponent of legalizing marijuana

Fred Karger, openly gay, running on the Independant ticket now because he was locked out of the debate in NC, as they cited his low poll numbers.

Andy Martin, douche that started the emails questioning Obama's birth certificate and saying he is Muslim.

Not sure how serious this guy is. Jimmy McMillan of the "the rent is too damn high" party..

Tom Miller: The destruction of America is being created by career politicians, excessive debt, illegal immigration, political correctness and more. I don't think he's seeing the big picture.

Ron Paul:
Dr. Ron Paul officially announced his candidacy for the 2012 Republican Presidential nomination on
May 13, 2011. The 75-year old Texas Congressman will once again center his campaign on the theme of
liberty, human rights and the financial market reforms. With his small but vocal pockets of
supporters spread all over the country, the Libertarian leaning Republican is set to be one of the
most controversial character on the campaign trail. So far, i've liked what he has to say.. Mainly about not needing laws to protect ourselves from ourselves.

Tim Pawlenty: Former Gov of Minnesota, balanced their budget and reformed healthcare. Unsure about him.

Mitt Romney, no

Rick Santorum.. hell no

i thought trump dropped out already.

uh oh. hope you don't mean the tea party group stuff in america now. more like old bostonians' tea party, right? uh oh vicki, don't scare me.

[deleted account]

honestly...you guys know how clueless I am. is there a link I can see that says who is running cause I don't. all I know is obama and trump (if he's sitll there).

and btw we don't vote directly for our prime minister. our pm gets in as the leader of the party that got the most seats. commonewalth style I believe (uk, aus. new zealand, etc).

I want to have a tea party. ahoy mates!

haha. i have the let's get physical song stuck in my head now .

the thing about politics is that they're all crooked.

vicki, i think the same damn thing about america sticking noses where they don't belong. that's why i like ron paul. he says the same thing. our economy needs taken care of and not by spending to have people everywhere that we don't belong. it's almost time for me to start researching more. i just haven't had time or paid attention. Obama's last address seemed like total bs and playing to the crowd. didn't have that stick to it conviction he used to have. i dont know. sometimes it's really hard to read people. we'll see what happens.

not like it matters with electronic voting they can computer glitch it to make whoever the hell they want win.

[deleted account]

now isn't that interesting tah that you assume we all know who is who and who is running...hmm...who did you think should have won in our last federal election? we just had it maybe a month ago. hmm...

ok ok of course you wouldn't know who was who in our election or even that we had one. we are not the big world power stick your nose in everyones business kind of contry. ouch. STOP hitting me.

obama. or kennedy. or schwarzenegger. no I think I'll say obama.

If I were an American I would vote for Obama...only because a vote for a centrist is better than a vote to the CRAZY right...and it doesn't appear that the republicans are willing to put up somebody who is able to appeal to both sides.
