Juvenile Diabetes Type 1

A group for parents with a child/ren who have type 1 insulin dependant diabetes. I wanted to start this group to support & make others aware that diabetes can appear in such young children, & completely shock & take aback parents & make them feel so helpless in that situation. I only write this, as I WAS one of those parents in complete awe of the situation that came upon myself & my family so suddenly and you are feeling so many emotions you just don't know what to do with yourself. So I will try & provide as much info as I can, an ear to listen, any tricks and tips i've come to learn along the way with my son, who is a twin, who is now 4years,6moths & was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 1 week before his 4th birthday. If anyone else has information/tips/offers support etc please feel free to contribute and add your own stories etc I think it is one of those things that you dont really give much thought to until you are the one facing the situation and it then becomes a necessity to learn and gain as much knowledge as you can, as a parent/carer/supporter to give your child the best care you possibly can give! so I hope you join me, or spread the word & i'd be happy to share my story & help others if I can :) thank you for taking the time to read this & lets hope that somewhere in the future, theres a CURE for every age/type of diabetes worldwide for everyone who faces it daily and the people around them who love, support and care for these wonderful people!!
